Could be, wouldn't shock me, just par for the course as almost ALL States use their citizens as hostages &/or shields of one sort or another.
What was MAD all about if not 'you melt my children & I'll melt yours!'?
But ... beware because Americans are again being pressituted into another "humane intervention".
The flag-waving Christian militarists & Armaggedonites will emotionally but thoughtlessly demand action & another Middle East Christian community will face extinction.

If Uncle Sam wasn't an Empire none of this would matter a whit on the domestic political stage.
But Syria is a dynamite factory & Uncle Sam thinks the answer is more matches.
Who cares? No matter who wins they will want money from us and they will blame us for all their problems. I hope they all kill each other and it comes down to one survivor, and he/she is gay. I hope that for the entire Middle East. Iran especially. I hope the lone survivor is a mullah type who exports bacon. We've lost enough of our freedoms because of these idiots.
