Since there's a federal law banning the use of the military as police....do the next best thing...militarize the civilian police....Case in point are the full armor Humvees the County has taken to add to their fleet of vehicles.
They were free...not for American taxpayers who paid for one vehicle that had virtually no miles on it...but free for the County except for cost of running them....
One will be used to patrol the perimeter of the airport....

They should sell it to pay for the medical bills for the 4 that got their a$$es kicked at the jail today.

Why is it ok for police to have cell phones in their police cars, and i have seen them on them, ok.
If we get caught we get a fine.
Police have car radio's and if they have a important call they can go to a phone at the station or elsewhere just like the public is supposed to do.
Because police are above the law.
And cell phone are not as dangerous as the people that get paid to come up with new things to make laws over would have us believe.
If cell phones truly were dangerous to drive with then they could allow for them only during emergencies. But instead cops can use them to call their girlfriends all night long as well as for emergencies.
The other day I was driving down massy street and saw a trooper reading and typing on the computer mounted to his center console. He was more wrapped up in that thing than a 16 year old girl texting about the prom.
