Nine women, six of them from Oswego County, were honored this week as Women of Distinction. The awards come from Senator Patty Ritchie. Fulton resident and cancer survivor Jan Rebeor was named for top honors in the group.
Women are doing well these days. In fact, the Senator is being opposed by a woman in her bid for reelection this year.

That is just adorable. Women are the only minority that is a majority. We like to tell about the woman behind the man whenever a man is successful. But women do it on their own so no sense in mentioning that.
When is she going to switch parties?
I think your patronizing remark disguises your real fear. Based on all the current indications most sensible Democrats plan to join the Conservatives, Independents and Republicans who are voting for Patty Ritchie this year. That's what I think is "adorable."
I had always thought the word "patronizing" applied to more subtle condescending remarks than the overtly sarcastic one I made. Or to a shallow complement, such as, if you suggested naming a connector road after a general. I have no fear of who it is that votes for Patty Plate to get her elected. My fear would be if she lost or if she switched to the party that more represents her views on issues…that would be the democrat party. But I am sure you tried in your little guessing game and that's the important thing.
However if a real republican came forward to run against Patty. Someone that could actually speak in public and didn’t look like a train wreck then I would back that man…er um…person.
He would not be naming connector roads after generals or promoting SUNY presidents or first responder laws or Tug Hill Commission.
