Earlier today I "broke" the Pete's story...It's not a journalistic coup since I am there every day....But how the rest of the MSM deals with it will perhaps show why they struggle...
This is something of interest to the demographic that reads papers and watches TV newscasts....They have read about the sale on the Internet and will wonder if its not in the MSM....In their head, they will say "why wait to find out things of interest in the community?" The MSM will say, "that's not news, we're the gatekeepers.."
UPDATE- In less than a day, the Pete's story has become the third most viewed in the history of this blog, with the help of a link from Newzjunky.

Again, regional & local news organizations (television, radio, newspaper) die because they continue to waste airtime/inches on national news and ignore local niche news. They have always sucked on the APs teat, but that colored filter is circumvented by directly accessing and tailoring access to the user's requirements. If they don't get back to interviewing farmers and covering the fair, all we'll have left are blogs.
Changing ownership of a restaurant isn't high up on anyone's interest. Why don't you start a running day count of how long it takes a corrupt Attorney General to respond to requests for information from Congress? Holder is the most dishonest AG in the last 100 years. But media seems to go along with it. You're media.
Ask NJ how many clicks he got on the story. Inquiring minds want to know.
