New York is a "one bite" state....Current law holds a dog owner harmless for the first time their canine bites...A five year old boy and his parents are lobbying to change that after the youngster has endured years of treatment and a thousand stitches from an attack of a rogue pit bull.
Previous attempts to overturn "one bite" have come up short.
Meanwhile the no dogs rule at the Farmers Market in Watertown seems to be working and people there seem to be just as happy with Fido at home.

Call PattyPlate and AJR there good at creating new laws.
Maybe if a dog bites a firefighter then Patty plate will pander and promulgate a new law.
I say we should adopt a ZERO tolerance. If a dog even thinks about biting someone, he should be put down. What value do we place on our beloved children if we allow dogs to bite our kids once and say its ok? This is the kind of question for the mind of Cindy Habeeb on Friday. She knows about this zero tolerance/complete caring standard.
If a dog of any breed or size attacked my child I would kill said dog. End of negotiations. Next thing will be that a child bit a dog - now what?
Very happy taking my family to other places now other than watertown events and spending my money there instead. Freedon is priceless and when mine is covertly denied I will go elsewhere everytime.
