North Country Congressman Bill Owens will be skipping the Democratic National Convention, which will be the ultimate pep rally for President Obama.
Observers say Democrats in close districts will stay away fromt he DNC in hopes of presenting an independent image in their home district.
I was a delegate to the 1992 DNC and it was a lot of fun. Quite the experience, but it was being held in NYC and not in the Tar Heel State.
Western NY Rep. Kathy Hochul is also skipping Obama-mania...She will stay home as well.

Sounds like a bit of the "Clinton syndrome". I recall a time in the past where democrats distanced themselves from Wilhelm von slick.
I tend to think this time there is good reason.

I've always heard that JCC's nursing program refuses to accept men into their program. This year their graduation photo shows 27 women, 3 men, so the bigotry continues. Why doesn't someone ask a question about this? Or does the health field have no need for male nurses? Or are our area young men unable to compete in the tough academic area? Now you know if that's true it is grounds for a lawsuit by graduating area men. They could sue local schools for a bad education or JCC for bigotry. Year after year JCC does this. No men allowed. The leadership of their program needs to be replaced.

It is no secret that Owens and Obama are bedfellows regardless if they want to make it public or not.
Owens continues to be unapologetic for his vote for Nancycare.
Owens has been supporting the president since he was elected, why would he not want to support him now. I'm a democrat and I am pissed if this is true. I'll have to support doheny if this is the case. I hate disloyalty and abandonment when someone needs your help.Just goes to show what kind of person owens is and has become.
Unless something is pressing for him, I consider it disloyal to the President and party for not attending.

I am a republican and I am feeling slightly less hatred toward Owens after seeing he is not blindly loyal to the party and POTUS like party-line-Danny-FreeStuff is. Loyalty when it comes to politics and parties is disgustingly immoral.

I was just thinking that a program like JCC's that puts out these kinds of classes year after year might be a WAR ON MEN. And you being our local WAR BOY, might be able to explain it. Don't get mad. 4:25 the war on men is worse than you think. Grade school has only 9% male teachers and high school only has 14% male teachers. SUN"Y Potsdam is a big teacher college and they have not addressed this war on men yet.
And it gets even worse when you consider that almost all of those male teachers and male nurses are gay!
The real is whether or not the male teachers were gay before they became teachers or whether teaching made them gay. It could have been a union contract requirement.
