The State of NY is providing free shots against EEE, a nearly always fatal malady faced by our equine friends. One of the clinics is in the Ogdesnburg suburb.
Well, rabies is always fatal, but I have to pay for my dog's shots.
Why can't owning a horse carry with it the responsibilty of paying for its health care....or is this also covered under Obama Care ?

This is like AIDS prevention because it helps the public at large. When we start having to pay for no copay free birth control pills for every horse then you would have a point.
In this instance, the local geography is conducive for the spread of this vectorborne virus. If I were a betting man, I would guess some seasonal river-shore property owners have relocated a few of their expensive horses for the season and have leaned on the local pols to push this "essential program" on the local sharecroppers to neutralize their country mules.

She cares more about how hot chili is, tapping maple trees, naming new roads, posing for photo-ops and now this!
We need a Senator that CARES about doing for the people they represent.
The EEE can jump to humans from bug bites, so that's why they care. Most people who own horses for riding care a whole bunch about their animals. Throw in the farms with bearded folks and you know they don't get the horses their shots on a regular basis. (Most of them don't allow the childern to have shots).

I didn't know Dannie owned a horse. But you know that if he does, he is absolutely entited to this fee horse shot.
