Is Bill Owens on a Charm Offensive ?

It's no secret in the office of NNY Rep. Bill Owens that I support Matt Doheny for Congress in the 21st CD. Heck, I already endorsed him.
But Mr Owens is still my Congressman and I respect that, and the Congressman has decided  that charm beats acrimony in dealing with the mercurial mayor of the largest city in the district.
Yesterday Mr. Owens called the HOTLINE out of the blue to chat about stuff and today he was affable at the Yellow Ribbon event at the Mall. In fact he posed for a picture and challanged me to put it on the blog.  You see for all my faults and failings, this humble blog is the touchstone for the political class.

Even Matt Doheny is respectful of Mr. Owens. He wants his job and feels his policys would be better for the North Country but he is a gentleman. This class is what Doheny himself lacks. His cocky demeanor his boistrous drinking and whatever else it is he does, his disrespect for women in general and his degrading disgracful fondling of that woman in Washington (even though she seemed to be enjoying his groping)..
Sure not all of what Owens has done is benifical for all of us but hes tried, much like Patty Ritchie has tried..I would compare him to Ritchie in class and demeanor and his values of family life and people in general.
Matt Doheny is in a class by himself and we dont need that representing us...

Matt has ideas and is not a shill for Pelosi and Obama. Mayor, you are wrong to pose with Owens.

Graham poses with Owens. Fitzpatrick with Duffy. They are both traitors, like Jane Fonda on the anti aircraft gun.

Oh 5:32, lighten up. It's just a picture. And the mayor is a public figure. It's not like he posed with Osama Bin Laden or something. Geez.

I'm surprised Owens can still smile after all that time under Nancy's desk. It can't be fun.

I wont vote for Doh or Graham. I prefer that my representatives represent me, not some life of partying, booze, womanizing, and acting better than the rest of us.

Hey 644 I echo your opinion I wont eat at the Tilted Kilt anymore, after the Doheny Endorsement by the Owners of the Kilt.........

Doheny does not have ideas. He is not a shill for Pelosi and Obama, but he is a shill for republican establishment. Pelosi is no longer Speaker, but the desk is still there

Of course you support Doheny because you are a maker. You run a business and are familiar with making sensible expenditure decisions and having the self control to not spend money foolishly no matter how much you want something.

Your tenure in politics has shown you, that given the chance and power, someone in office will always try to take way anther's rights.

So naturally you would not and could not support someone that was foolish enough to turn so much power over to our government in the form of nancycare.

Owens enjoyed his military career where he became accustomed to being told what to do and accustomed to ignoring terrible decisions and accustomed to ignoring bureaucracies where money does not matter nor do people's rights.

In his closed world the soldier was simply the property of the military and now he sees the citizens are the property of the government and that is completely natural to him.

Owens makes no apologies for voting for the abomination of a health care bill. Instead he keeps fibbing and saying his voters thank him. At least he apologized for speeding 84 MPH.

Very well said 5:22 pm, and very true. I am confident the majority of thinking people in the 23rd district feel the same way.

You are right 5:32PM Matt has ideas – the same ideas as the ruling class Wall Street thugs he represents.

My vote will go to the one that I think will be the best person to represent the North Country and that is Doheny. He has proven to be a smart successful businessman.
Owens, nice guy and all, but he is really just a medium sized fish in a small pond.

Obama is smooth too but almost half of us were smart enough not to vote for that totalitarian communist last time around.
This election comes down to the makers verses the takers. The takers might be perfectly fine with Owens taking from everyone else and handing them free stuff. But when the government employee takers figure out that Obama care takes from their Cadillac plan too, then they might look at it a little differently.

I suspect we'll see Graham's arm in a sling next week from patting himself on the back so much about his fairness and non-partisan stance and stuff.

Can't wait to hear it (wink/wink).

Please give us an example of how graham has been unfair Danny.

Dannie, you should TRY something non-partisan, just once. See how you like it. Nah, never mind.

Dan, with you, its usually whack whack. Try to get over your own partisan hatred. You're at the Fall of your life. Wouldn't it be nice to have a little balance going before you are gone and forgotten? Or do you always want to be known as a partisan hack, or excuse me, whack?

Now is the time to swear at me.
