Why can't the candidate be finally revealed,in fact why couldn't we the taxpayers know who the finalists were? Thought you were the open govt candidate, turns out smith gets his way after all, everything is a secret..and hiding it under the aegis of 'personnel matters' doesn't cut it IMO,you are talking about people not already hired, the top person will be paid to run our city after all..
We need to know and so does the candidate's current employer so they can fire them.It is the council's hire and they need to make the choice.Get real
Now wasnt our last city manager voted upon by the good people of this city??? SInce when does the council and mayor have any right to put anyone into such a high office?!? NONE! This was too ensure no YES MAN would be possibly introduced into our government which is exactly why problems occured in so many executive sessions which are crap also. nothing should be witheld from the people of this city! God save watertown from this travesty against our freedoms and constitution!!!!
Do you think the MSN would hesitate to step on your toes and have a say in city policy decisions? Of course not...which is why you should be writing a tell all right here and scooping the MSN on this city manager.
The public doesn not vote on the city manager. It is an appointed post.
This reminds me a little of how the pope is selected when you have to wait for the appearance of smoke coming from the chimney of the conclave room. •Black smoke means no new city manager yet•White smoke announces the selection of a new city manager•Anything in between could mean somebody is smoking those ‘funny’ cigarettesSo if you see a puff of white smoke coming from the council chamber and hear the ringing of the town church bell it probably means a new city manager has been selected.
Mr Graham : Kudos to you and the council for the expeditious manner in which this search and discovery process was executed .'Tis a shame that the ELECTEDs in Ogdensburg haven't the same ability and dedication to get the task done and stop the waste of both scarce taxpayer's resources and time .Again -- nice job -- Maybe you should advise the Elected Burgies to get with the program :)
Let's see, Mr. Smith said the council "hit a grand slam"; but we will have to wait to see if it's fair ,or foul. If it's foul, how about a triple play ,on the city council?
