Team Doheny Touts Optimistic Analysis of Race

Political pundit Stu Rothenberg is listing NY 21 as a winable seat for the GOP and that has the Doheny campaign trumpeting the analysis.
It is certainly winnable given Doheny's three primary plusses...the traditional voting patterns of the area...his access to resources...and his personal energy and intellect.
On the flip side, NNY has been trending Democrat of late, Rep. Owens looks and sounds like a Member of Congress...and the recent Gawker piece opens the door for unfortunate comparisons in the newly added eastern parts of the district.
I think a lot of Doheny's prospects hinge on how Mitt Romney is faring in the national beauty contest. If President Obama's approval hovers in the 40s and Mr. Romney makes a strong case, I think it helps here.
It also depends on Doheny's ability to keep the race focused on his core economic and tax issues as that is not where Mr. Owen's wants the campaign to head.
If Doheny comes out of his primary with 70+,  and talks about what he is an expert at, then its competitive...and he can win.
A lot can happen in six months and except for dolts like us, most people are not really focused yet...

A lot more people are focused than normally would be because Obama sucks so bad and so does the healthcare deformity he authored, forced and bribed through the houses that his party held.

The only hope for the free stuff party is to keep hoping the smooch is the deciding factor or that Greene or Hoffman make it so it is not a two way race.

Don't forget that Owens took control over the student loans with his healthcare vote. So if Obama can give some free money to students and SUNY presidents and professors than that might help. Other than that, he is going down in flames.

time to insert MS Mike's blurb

But first here is mine; this race is close and will be to the end. Who slips up most loses. Matt had his and cannot afford another shoe to drop. (should I say high heel)

Mayor your right the wedding gala will be huge club for the Dems it may well turn the race when we look back after election day. No matter how they spin it people vote for people they like and have some connection with. A gala wedding is not some people here connect with.

I am voting against Owens and the health care debacle he voted into law. And against Nancy Becoming speaker again and against Obama passing any of his agenda.

I am not voting for who I like.
I don't like or dislike Doheny.
I don't dislike him because he is rich. And I don't dislike Owens because Owens is rich.

I dislike Owens for voting for Nancycare. I think that law is despicable. If he as any business acumen then he knows it too.

Q and A"

Do we assume that Doheny supports Romney and the so-called GOP blueprint - the "Ryan Plan?"

We need to know his views on those issues and not just on what he says he would do.

The reality of what is pending down should he join the GOP, is critical and we need to know where he stands on those things and with those maniacs already down there seeking to extend their power base - which I surmise is their goal... that would be very bad or worse than now.

Danny you are full of fee seas.
You don't need to know anything about Doheny's views because you already know who you are voting for.
