Douglas Barclay launched the original attack on the weed. John McHugh did as well. The lake geneates tourism jobs in six towns, bringing thousands of thousands of families to the area. The weed kills native plants, creates vast stagnant stretches and hurts fishing, boating aqnd swimming. Sen. Ritchie listened to the residents and got action out of the state legislature. That's why she's so popular. She listens and gets things done.
