Mayor Bloomberg Seeks Ban on Large Sodas

The city that never sleeps won't let you get a soft drink over 16 ounces if Mayor Bloomberg has his way. Hizzoner wants to halt those establishments regulated by the City Health Department from selling sugary drinks over a pint.
Of course the City doesn't regulate stores, so you can't stop sale there, Mr. Mayor.
Oh, the reasoning for  all this nanny state stuff....Fighting obesity.
Mayor Bloomberg wants to cap the size of sweetened drinks in bid to cut obesity - NYPOST.com

Dumb dumb thinks just like everyone else that can't read. More doesn't mean bad. What's bad is sometimes what it is, not how much. I can drink a gallon jug of Coke Zero and gain little to nothing. I can drink a gallon of milk and get real fat. It's calories and fat with sugars that count. Read up Mr. Mayor B.

He Ray...then why is everyone that drinks diet soda fat?

If I was He-Ray, I would tell you that Diet Coke is not Coke Zero. Diet Coke is some bad crap. It is loaded with sugar, fat, and much more. You missed the point, just like Mayor B.. Read up on it before making an assume it's bad for you statement. Know that it's what's in the cup, not how much.

Pretty soon we won't even be able to flatulate in New York without some political "Nanny" saving us from ourselves, yet we, the "Sheeple" keep re-electing them over and over.

Mike, Chuck, and Kirsten need to go.

Now on the flip-side...a 12 ounce soft drink typically has TEN teaspoons of sugar in it. I wonder how many folks would put TEN teaspoons of sugar in a glass of ice tea?

Bloomberg is a dumb cluck, period. This is over reaching any government "responsbility," period. If passed, there are no bounds about future rules...

Some enterprising politician should introduce a bill in Albany that in essence takes the right to make such restrictive law away from municipalities. This bill should be designed as a threat to reduce aid to New York City if they did not follow it.

We cannot ban a breed of dog but they can use their health department to ban salt and control our drink portions or tax cigarettes or ban smoking in parks?

Tycoonberg is a control freak. Not everyone can entertain themselves by flying their private jets to France. All the little people have is their food and smokes.

PS: I don't smoke and I usually drink 12 oz cans of soda. I just hate totalitarians.

Ban Hoover-Round Chairs. In my homeland if you no longer can walk the lions get you and it's done.

But Dan, you love all that is government. How can you speak ill of a politician who is simply looking out for our well being?
