Curious media folks wanting to know more about the new city manager can mull her resume and application cover letter which they received today after two outlets requested it.
Council looks forward to residents learning more about Sharon Addison and her career path that led her here.
Despite hiring someone who worked for the NSA, that doesn't mean City Hall will be under a cone of silence. Our commitment is still to be open.

One observation - take it for what it's worth.
Former bureaucrats who have held high-level positions in intelligence with T/S (SCI/SSBI) and other clearances who say they can't, or they won't talk about their jobs, are known to carry that mindset over into the private sector -- that would not play well in a local appointed/or elected political office or position.
At least that's what I've seen in my 40 years around such persons.
I fully understand the need for secrecy in some government jobs and positions, but those persons need to shake the attitude they hold about that previous service as it would apply to direct service to the public where openness is the #1 ingredient.
Most of my experience shows people who worked for government all their lives have no idea about much of anything. Your cautions about our new manager being secretive are pure speculation, Dannie. I say give her the benefit of the doubt.
And the city council thought they had problems with Mary's lack of communication?
Oh I think Mary communicated just fine with the public. I think where she failed was communication with department heads, specifically Gene Hayes. We never got our money's worth out of that guy. And that department was the center of most of the recent problems. It is a disaster. And it doesn't seem to change. Mary never addressed it.
She has a BA in computer science and mathematics and Danny is calling her a bureaucrat?
Jeff if you want to impress her just ask her this question:
Q:Why can't you take the cross product of Spider-Man?
A: because he is a scalar
Then laugh like Lewis
6:32 , Do you have any experience about anything? Dan , you are correct ; at least you made awareness.
