This lawsuit is great reading and you can access the text of it on Newzjunky.com. It's a $50M suit that centers on the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department alledgedly using an attractive deputy as part of some cooked up version of "To Catch a Predator."
Who knows what really happened, but those gotcha stings on NBC have certainly opened up the law enforcement workplace for some interesting scenarios.
My read on sexual harassment is simple. You don't eat where you ----. And if somebody says they feel uncomfortable with they way things are, you change the way things are.

But I have been exposed to enough images in main stream pop culture to recognize an attractive person when I see one. I think you took too much license when characterizing her as an attractive sheriff.
Why would a grown woman pose for pictures to catch a pedophile with? As Elmer Fudd would say,"There's sometin scwewy goin on awound here". Not a bad looker though.
Wow..not saying I wouldn't like to check out those photos,but there are only about a billion like that online available,and they had to have her do that? Whoever approved this in the first place had to be out of his mind,how could you think this would end up good in any way? As Forrest Gump would say "mama says stupid is as stupid does"..
Shoddy work on behalf of John Burns. Allowing a male deputy to photograph a female deputy unattended.
He should resign, he obviously does not have the correct judgment to hold the job.
I would like to see the Sheriff's Dept. go back to "basics" if the Detective Division has nothing better to do than to manufacture Crime then time to Cut back. Get rid of the following K9, Detectives, Road Patrol, ATV's, Snowmobiles, Boats, and any other toys that are laying around. Sadly this will be settled out of court and both sides will agree not to say anything.
This isn't good at all. And it does reflect on the entire department. I hope the lady takes the taxpayers for millions. She deserves it. As far as the people responsible losing their jobs, won't happen. This is a shame. Cody and Burns, resign. Maybe others as well. There is no excuse for this.
OH Please!!!! Like she couldn't have said "No" to the picture taking! She should be smarter than that. If pictures were needed to catch predators, they easily could have easily been pulled off the internet.
Police don't advertise their personal phone numbers - why would she advertise her personal goods knowing people could recognize her as law enforcement?
I know I would leave my job before posing for seduction pictures for men who work for our company!

I completely believe it.I have been harassed by cops for years. Stopping me at road blocks and asking where I am going and where I am coming from.
Pulling me over for speeding and asking me if I know why they pulled me over. They are about to charge me with the crime of speeding but instead of telling me my rights they try to trick me into testify against myself.
And on a more serious note...I have heard of many people being pulled over without probable cause by the sheriffs department in the last few years.
She is a moron. It would be like my boss stopping in and asking me to take some naked photos for a online ad. I would have to say no. She did what she did and had no problems with the photos going out before. Why now?
AFter this tape was made public the Sheriff got so many calls from The Doehny camp they finally sold it to Team Matt to take with him on his trips.

You people who are blaming her must not have read the lawsuit. It is entirely understandable how this took place. For the Dept to go after trainees like they did is inexcusable. The pressure to comply would have been very great. These woman wanted a career. Rice was shown photos that weren't that bad. Then she was pressured to pose for more than was agreed to. This is very wrong. Too bad the taxpayers will be writing the check. If Burns won money for a slip and fall, this lady deserves a hell of a lot more for this kind of treatment. Cote, gone.
Here is my take on it all. We have all seen the true life cops on the beat shows. I have seen cops asked to go under-cover and ride with bike gangs. They have to eat and sleep bike gang. They do it and make arrests. I saw a police officer who had to fake doing drugs, pretend to hate blacks, and dated the head biker dudes sister to get in. The lady was buck dam ugly. But, he did his job and brought the whole bunch down. It got so bad for him that he almost went to the other side, because he had feelings for them. They started to become a family to him. But, he did his job.
This lady officer was asked to show some skin and take down perverts before they got real kids. She agreed to it. It was part of her job. Nothing that many other officers do. Don't call her stupid or anything like that. She was doing her job. The officer in charge messed that up. He also in her words made it hard for her to work, because he made the photos into something for everyone to bother her with. Other officers became people that she couldn't trust and they became in her book almost kid like. Na...na...na...we seen you naked bull crap. I say she has a case and needs to follow it up. Does she get all that money? Maybe.
If she was treated like that, well that's sad. She was doing her job. Trying to take down perves. She deserved a medal, not people who worked with her making her into the bad person. If it's all true. Because yes at this point it's she said that he did this or that kind of deal. Same with him. Let the court decide.
Hopefully it won't get to a court. She was manipulated. If it goes to a court we the taxpayers are going to pay dearly. Oh well, we got the money.
