I am really worried about our State Legislature still being in session even though the budget is adopted. They could spend time on all sorts of crazy things, including the all important debate on mixed martial arts legalization....It's sort of like human cockfighting and is a great source to entertainment to some.
It's currently not legal in NY and some lawmakers want to bring low brow entertainment to the Empire State.
One of our local legislators, Senator Joe Griffo who represents Lewis County is a prime mover behind the legislation.
Wonder what else the state's great deliberative body is cooking up for use before they leave town in June to work on getting reelected.

Wouldn't it be nice if they were going to repeal 10 percent of the laws? Just imagine...maybe Oxbow could get away without paying a flag man $45/hour when they bid out a public works project.
Maybe they could quit requiring those stupid resuscitation masks on the walls in restaurants.
Maybe they could quit requiring those defibrillators oat our school sporting events.
Or they could repeal that stupid pandering pansy law that RINO Patty Plate passed, which makes it more of a crime for the guy whose former address was in Marcy, to shoot an ambulance driver dead than it was for the guy that knifed his mother in law to death. Two lives lost in the cape but Patty thinks one was worth more than the other. Brilliant librul thinking.
Shes also for legalizing the fighting in the state however she leads by example trying to repeal TV violence amongst other things. She fights to keep the NYS dept of health alive and budgeted but defies their decisions if they affect her area adversly.. Shes for cutting school sexpenses yet she led the fight to keep two presidents of Colleges ten miles apart run by the State.. Yup thats our Patty.Bought and paid for by the Long Island Republicans and of course our Congressional wannabe in ABay....
I think you guys need to go to school and learn how to write the English language. You sound as stupid as your writing looks. And I'll believe that $45 an hour flag man in Oxbow when Kelli Greene becomes a member of Congress.
The only law that I want to see is a term limit law.
re: "...low brow entertainment" already exists in NYS; in Albany.
"...whenever any form or government becomes destructive ... it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it..."
4:41, I am not going to take the time to polish and fix my comments here, even if I were capable.
Just as you took no time to defend the indefensible. Other than to doubt the prevailing wage that applies to Oxbow public works project flagmen.
Why don't you tell us how much the state of New york legally requires Oxbow to pay someone to stand in the road with a flag? Then you will have made the case of how reasonable Democrats are and unions too?
I dare ya!
I double dog dare ya!
You already told us it is not $45/hour so now just tell us the real number and how reasonable it is!
You are nothing but a Patty Plate apologist union thug.
A quick check on "See through NY" reveals that this $45 an hour stuff is nonsense. A worker such as you describe, even with many years of service makes an annual salary of just under $40,000. So yeah, I have a hard time believing $45 an hour. Do you really think a flagman is getting over $93,000 a year. Go listen to some more Rush
did the Taxpayers pay for Addies Easter Egg Hunt????? Did Ted Go??
You just keep gettin' dumber and dumber every time you post a comment here dontcha?
"See though NY" is a list of wages of government employees. It is not a list of wages of employees of contractors for public works projects.
Prevailing wage is the wage extorted by the unions with the sanction of our government, for contractor employees.
I've never heard of the prevailing union wage in this area even approaching $45/hour for a flagman. Even federal stuff on Drum for trades isn't that high. Show me the proof.
