NY Open for Business ? That's The New Mantra

New York State plans to begin telling itself it's a good place to do business...because much of our image problem is in our own minds. The "Open for Business" theme was first launched last year at the Governor's Regional Economic Councils.
I don't know if they will do it, but I had suggested to LG Duffy, that the Open for Business logo be reduced to a window sticker for NY businesses to display.
They are planning TV ads and eventually will advance the theme in advertising outside the state.
There are still impediments in the state, but to his credit the Governor has tried to revive New York's image by getting Albany to operate more smoothly.

This state is just as hard to do business in as it ever has been.
I remember waiting for the kilt to open all summer as they were waiting for the DOT to give them the go ahead.
I remember a Poppa Johns owner getting fined for not providing 5 shirts to every employee.
I remember a local bar owner waiting for his refund for the 5000 dollar cigarette license that he overpaid. And it was only deemed overpaid after a lawsuit deemed it was a tax at such a high amount instead of a licensing fee.
I remember when smoking was banned from the one place smoking should be allowed...BARS!

re: "...the Gov has tried to revive NY's image by getting Albany to operate more smoothly."

See you here proof The Ruling Class is clueless. A 'smoother operation' is akin to improving an organized criminal racket.

The State itself is the problem.

Albany cannot improve Albany or lessen the impact of Albany. It is not in the nature of The Ruling Class to release their grip.

But nullification can break Albany.
