EXCLUSIVE: Highest paid school superintendent Carole Hankin continues to rake in $400,000 despite state plan to limit educrat salaries - NYPOST.com

Tax caps and all that talk by the Governor of overpaid superintendents won't affect the state's highest paid local school czar.
Carole Hankin of the Syosset District on Long Island has inked a five year deal at $405 K +.
And her top deputy in the district is paid over $400K as well.
Ms. Hankin is 69 years old. I'll bet you if the Post checked they would find she had already retired and is getting a pension as those 65 and older receiving one can earn as much as they want while still working in government.

There must be a way to take it with you when you depart.

Why the push by you to devalue public education? Is not one of your big complaints the public's devaluing of a politician's worth?

I am just interested in the rationale behind your thinking or lack there of.

Why is she wearing a pirate outfit ?

Obviously the people on the board of education that hired her and set her salary are incompetent and need a guy like Cuomo, who has never held a job in the private sector, to set them straight. They should fire this woman at once and replace her with the 50k/year produce manager from Wegmans. Then take the money they save and send it to Sackets for civil war reenactments.

Good Lord I thought that was Steven Tyler in drag..

They should put a little pig nose on her. Wouldn't you just love to follow her for a day and see the absurdity in what she is paid? But it is for the children. Hahaha.

Not any different than the JCIDA folks who were told NOT to enroll the employees into the NYS Retirement system, now of course a "Special Law" will be created just for them. I guess its different for them because there local and well connected.

6000 Children and 10 Schools? and this is why she deserves this high salary?

Just unbelievable
.
In Europe in a city of 500.000 there is one superintendent for all the schools in the city and this person dont get a salary of 400.000 Dollars.

No wondr property taxes are going through the roof.
One superintendent per count is more than enough and still to much.

Thats where the savings should start and not with eliminatening teacher possitions and children art classes.

10:01 What does this bimbo making $400k have to do with public education? Think of what you could do in classrooms with that kind of money.

If you don't know what a superintendent has to do with education then you need to go back to school.
Bimbo? I agree...it should be a man making that kind of scratch.

The Bimbo has little to do with education. I'll bet she's forgotten what a kid looks like. The real work takes place in the classroom, not at conventions held at resorts where all they talk about is getting more money to pad their salaries with. And quit referring to her as scratch. That could be considered part of the war on women, or whatever she is.
