The Maple City is finally selling the Knox Street property that plunged Ogdensburg into a year of intrigue and festering that led to the departure of the City Manager. Never has one modest home led to such fuss and the sooner someone else has title to the property the better.

Politics at its worst. Appears that a couple of the Councilors whined about it to the end.
This entire debacle should (and could) have been settled six months ago had it not been for the egos, personal agendas and petty small-mindedness of these self-styled guardians of the public interest.
Best explanation I have heard is simply "what would you expect?; its Ogdensburg"
Houses don't fire city mangers...people do.
Yes the Burg is truly Theatre of the Absurd !
Ninety percent of the debacle was stirred up by Bill Nelson. After the last election Nelson completley lost touch with the taxpayers by completely depending on the city manager. He backed the managers every move and when people, and fellow counsilors complained he turned a deaf ear.
Once they found out the details f the housing scandle, the city manager was told to fix it.. He attempted to but failed because of subordination on the part of many.
Things were still good in the Maple city and life went on.. Only when Nelson took his campaign to the people he found out the voters had finally had it with his administration and the way things were running..
Something had to be done. He garnered up some support and had them come to city hall as a mob and he suggested and backed firing Sciorra then and only then. Every time people came to the meetings they were met with executive sessions and delays from Nelson and the city attorney.. Now a minor issue was snowballing big time but Nelson who finally prevailed in the election wanted to distance himself from the problems but couldnt..
This will appear as a big black mark on his political future and his plans of a run for Albany in the fall have been all but dashed.. People here in the Burg finally see what Bill Nelson really represents.
How much did this debacle cost the taxpayers? Some have reported $250,000, but neither the mayor or city council are talking.
The last we heard was they were "within their budget"
