Anchors on Arcade Street look at WNBC's Sue Simmons and ask, 'why can't I make $5Million a year and drink between newscasts ?'. Well, Brian and Anne, you can have half of Sue's deal.
The celebrity side of news is astounding and channel 4 cannot be blamed for cutting costs and looking for another news reader.
When I worked at Channel 7, operations czar Glenn Hall would eschew the words "cue the talent" when directing the newscasts. Glenn would say "cue the talker" as a reminder you weren't all that important.
Sue Simmons’ big salary led to WNBC ditching her - NYPOST.com

I don't know who she is but this would not have happened if her name was Regis. They should at least give her the option of taking a pay cut to the level that they will be paying the hot young thing that replaces her. On the other hand...they should fire the guy/girl that approved her salary that high to begin with.
Channel 7 does not have talent and some do not qualify as even talkers. They have stale same ol' same olds - Ashley, Richter, Cole, Rutherford.
The new staff are good but they cannot seem to hang on to anyone except those who can't make it elsewhere.
Katie Couric made millions for trying to talk like a man, why shouldn't this lady make millions for, whatever it is she did?
You wouldn't write about Joe Paterno, because you didn't think it was news. Now you write about some #itch named Sue Simmons. No one knows her and no one cares.
I can say #itch as Bill Mahar has proven such language is now acceptable. Thank you Bill.
