Rush Limbaugh Apologizes to Sandra Fluke - Ethan Klapper - NationalJournal.com

Under pressure from many in his own base, talk show host Rush Limbaugh has apologized for calling a Georgetown law student a "slut". Mr. Limbaugh said in a written statement that his choice of words was poor in a bid to be humorous.
Sandra Fluke had testified to Congress on the issue of insurance mandated coverage for birth control. Limbaugh made fun of her testimony but punctuated his remarks by suggesting Ms. Fluke was a "slut" who wanted the government to mandate coverage for her libido.

More likely under pressure from his sponsors than from his base.

I don't know, 9:04. The left calls people murderers and war criminals. Hell, right here on this blog Republicans are called racists. Slut isn't such a big deal. All this indignation seems a little misplaced to me. But if it being offended works for you, enjoy it and play it for all its worth.

This was NOT an apology. This was his "justification" for saying what he said!

He doubled down on his lies. It is about insurance coverage… NOT "personal sexual recreational activities ".

That’s what the intellectually bankrupt cowards on the right do… they run their big fat mouths and as soon as the SHTF they are the first ones to run for cover… it happens every time.

Keep up the pressure to get this misanthrope POS off the airwaves.

No kidding 12:01AM… maybe you can provide that actual quote, or better yet the link? I’d love to see it.

In the meantime look what I found…

Just sayin’…

My sex life is as active as anybody else's, but I don't expect someone else to pay for whatever contraceptives I and my partner chose to use. Why should anybody else force the taxpayers to do so either? Rush's choice of words may have been unfortunate, but he was right. But then again, N.Y. IS awash with deciples worshiping at the Alter of Free Stuff. So all of you deciples flame away, now.

Uhh, an added thought. Doesn't contraceptives come under the catagory of being RESPONSABLE FOR ONE'S OWN ACTIONS? ------------------------------------------------------Oh. Silly me! Taking responsibility for one's own actions is no longer fashionable, is it? Gee, what WAS I thinking?

It is about sexual preferences. She testified before Congress she is going broke buying protection. (over $3000 a year) That is a lot of sex. That is a lot of condoms. Plus is she so stupid she doesn't know she can go to plan parenthood.

Why should the Church subsidize her sexual activity by paying for the pills or condoms.

12:01 It doesn't work for me.
I was just explaining why he did it.
I think she is worse than a slut and Bernie Madoff combined as she tries to steal billions from businesses and churches under the guise that this perpetual 30 year old student and ward of the state is entitled to free things.

But it probably wasn't a good idea to call her a slut because it adds smoke for the Communists to hide their fire behind as they try to incinerate our country and way of life.

So it was a Bill Clinton apology. So be it.

Sooo… under pressure from his advertisers, Limbaugh caves to his corporate masters and offers a fake apology.

Who is the “slut” now bitch?

Ms. Fluke testified about a friend who needed the pill to treat a condition which (after she failed to treat it) resulted in having one of her ovaries removed. Ms. Fluke did not ask for the government to pay for birth control. She simply supported the regulation which would require “insurance” to cover birth control.

But it’s fun to watch how trash like Limbaugh and his demented supporters can't actually argue against anything in the article or the facts of the case. Instead they just throw out abusive ad hominems.

Clearly, they are too dense to realize they have nothing of substance and lack the integrity to admit it -- rather they just jump about like little children screeching and throwing their feces instead.

Rush is owed a vote of thanks. Not only did he reveal the infantile ignorant soul of the Republican Party, or at least the non-sentient part of it, but he also doubled down when challenged. If anything he highlighted the stark differences between the two main political parties.

That is the wonderful thing about free speech. So I say let the ridiculous be ridiculed… let the stupid ignorant bastard and his cohorts show the rest of the world who they really are.

Trying to suppress such speech only martyrs it on the altar of the First Amendment and gives cover for their idiotic and fundamental nature.

Fluke was testifying about medical conditions and having ovaries removed? Doesn't a real court evaluate if someone is an expert or not before they are allowed to testify to such lies?

BTW...This was about having the government force the Jesuit church pay for contraception, so it get right haters.

Anonymous said...

First off, the Jesuits are a religious order within the Roman Catholic Church. They are not a Church unto themselves. Secondly, accepting the reasonable premise that the school should not be held liable for her contraception, why does Laimbaugh go crazy and call her demeaning names? And the part about watching her on video having sex is just creepy. Is there anything the man could say that his halfwitted dittoheads would not back him up on? He is just a weird old man who is past his prime. From here on out he will grow more and more irrelevant. Get the hook already.

This has nothing to do with "women having so much sex" that they need to purchase the pill each time they engage in sexual activity (a very misinformed statement). This is a student who pays her tuition which includes health insurance.

It's not “free money” from public tax payers, so those who are rallying to the aid of Limbaugh make less sense than he does. Women deserve to have full medical treatments for their illnesses without the church dictating what is appropriate for them as though they are also medical doctors, which they are not.

Funny how men "deserve" Viagra to treat their "medical issues", but women do not. Of course, the repercussions for the women who don't get treated for medical conditions are serious and involve additional, more severe medical treatment, but the truth is that the church doesn't care.

This whole issue of a church going against their "moral conscious" is ridiculous. It's really just another way to legally discriminate against women or anyone else who disturbs someone's "moral conscious." The Catholic Church’s "moral conscious" has allowed them to move pedophile priests from one congregation to another, so their conscious is highly questionable to begin with.

No one in this country, not a church, not a corporation either, should have the legal "right" to discriminate against another group of Americans.

Most of these posts prove beyond all doubt how stupid the American people have become. This has nothing to do with women's health issues. Birth control is available almost everywhere for next to nothing. Planned Parenthood provides free pills and other birth control for everyone who needs it and cannot afford it. This entire episode was an attempt to change the subject from Obama's attempt to force the church to pay for things they do not agree with, to some make believe problem with ladies like Fluke not getting something for free. She already gets her smears and such for nothing, subsidized by the taxpayers. She just wants hers paid for by others. She is not entitled to send her bills to whomever she wants. You people who think this is about something else simply prove that America is on its way out. We have a president who sells envy, and fools like you who buy all they can get.

The Fluker was on The View today telling everyone to check out Media Matters for balanced viewpoints. Dannie Francis couldn't have said it better. Puke, I mean Fluke.

Anonymous said...

Nope… she’s an intelligent, poised, and well spoken young woman who has a reproductive system -- everything old fat white Republican men hate.

Limbaugh, on the other hand, is actually a lower form of life than that brown stain which thrives at the bottom of his diseased filled underwear.

And I’m being nice here!

From Sandra Fluke’s transcript:

“In the media lately, some conservative Catholic organizations have been asking what did we expect when we enroll in a Catholic school? We can only answer that we expected women to be treated equally, to not have our school create untenable burdens that impede our academic success. We expected that our schools would live up to the Jesuit creed of ‘cura personalis‘ – to care for the whole person – by meeting all of our medical needs.

We expected that when we told our universities of the problem this policy created for us as students, they would help us. We expected that when 94% of students oppose the policy the university would respect our choices regarding insurance students pay for – completely unsubsidized by the university. We did not expect that women would be told in the national media that we should have gone to school elsewhere.

And even if that meant going to a less prestigious university, we refuse to pick between a quality education and our health. And we resent that in the 21st century, anyone think it’s acceptable to ask us to make this choice simply because we are women.”

Anonymous said...

I wonder if the 30 year old perpetual student ever pondered...that the university she is trying to ruin...is it prestigious and the education it offers of superior quality...because of the religion or in spite of it?

She is welcom to go out and buy her own insurance that covers free no-co-pay birth control. But it would cost her a lot more. The discount her and the group of students received were the result of the intangible good will of the university.

This discrimination in favor of women needs to be fought with no holds barred. Why is this the only thing that requires no copay?

BS 12:25. Planned Parenthood provides birth control for next to nothing to just about everyone. This is a non issue, designed to change the subject from Obama's unconstitutional power grabs. Fluke's ovaries are well fondled, with taxpayer support.

Anonymous said...

If Rush said the earth was flat, we would have a hundred dittoheads on here repeating whatever he says as gospel. He is a pathetic, perverted loudmouth.

Anonymous said...

Really? If it was a "non-issue" why was your leader Limpballs ranting about it for three days?

Oh I get it now that the Re'pubs have backed themselves in the corner it becomes a non-issue?

Nice try...

...FAIL!

What... huh?

Of course the world is flat!

Yours truly,

As we see, not a word of substance. Just middle school tantrums. You continue to impress. And your girlfriend's pills continue to be free, despite your efforts to change the subject.

8:07AM… 12:40AM is 100% correct! How can you expect anyone to take you seriously when you continue to repeat the usual weak right wing talking points and propaganda? So far you have not been able to provide a single viable point based on the facts. Unless you have significant and verifiable information to back your rhetoric; give it up. As it is, you’re just embarrassing yourself and the few remaining genuine Republicans/Conservatives.

1240AM, I listen to that station all the time. I like it.

11:16 The country is in deep trouble. Our schools are producing people who can't think for themselves. All the Flucke was doing was begging for more free stuff. The average income of a grad of Georgetown Law School starts at $160k. She can afford to pay the $10/month her pills cost. And she really doesn't have to pay that is she so decided. You're just too stupid to admit reality. Go ahead and vote FreeStuff. I will go ahead and continue to screw your kids. Thank them for me. Tell them to plan to work for a long, long time.

Anonymous said...

12:17AM, You can mindlessly rant all day long about “free stuff” but you still haven’t been able to provide a shred of evidence in support of you claim as to how this administration’s proposed contraception policy will cost taxpayers.

Anonymous said...

Earth to “free stuff” guy!!

Hello, hello! Anybody there!

Evidently, the college faculty has insurance which does cover contraception because in 2000 the EEOC – challenged the schools policy.

Guess what, the church took it to court and lost!

Why...?

Because… hospitals universities, and charities are considered "public" institutions. That's how they get all their government cash aka(FREE STUFF).

Chew on that for awhile.

Anonymous said...

I now believe, after listening to the fools demanding more FreeStuff, that we should simply add more things to the list. You have convinced me. Everything is free. Electricity, food, babes, boats, dog food, you name it. Per you, nothing costs anyone. You have convinced me that we have become sooo sophisticated that things can be handed out at no cost to anyone. Why I hadn't seen it earlier in my life I have no idea. So all we really need to do, and all the dickbrain in the White House needs to do, is compile a list. Once it is on the list, its Free. I never realized the only limitation we have in this world is our own imagination. All the folks who sit on their ass, vote Donkey, and get FreeStuff will now demand that we move to the next level. We should now look into paying these folks for receiving FreeStuff. You don't want them to develope a complex. Mikey, you're a genius.

Anonymous said...

"Mikey, you're a genius.'

Thank you... but I'm not Mikey. Oh, and you left out war. War should be on the “free stuff” list to.
