A Challenger to Patty ?

      Who is Amy Tressider ?
She is the possible challenger to Senator Patty Ritchie, the one term GOP lawmaker from Heuvelton who it's generally felt had a clear path to reelection.
Ms. Tressider is a county legislator from Oswego County and really that's about all I know about her.
Dems had wanted someone from Oswego County in order to create a rivalry between the northern and souther ends of the 48th District.
In other state races, the local Members of Assembly so far are not opposed. The period for circulating nominating petitions for state office is not until June.
As for both Ms. Ritchie and Ms. Tressidor, I will need to how they feel on the issues I care about this week...Which are pit bulls and the Tebow trade.

I,m excited as I was left with the impression that Ritchie would be my Senator without competition.. I live in SLC but am no fan of Patty Ritchie. I think she has broken her word to the county and certainly Republican and Democrat alike know she has betrayed our county both in the sales tax issue and the re-districting. Dont take me completely wrong. One on one shes great if she get involved however getting her to break ranks with Skelos and the majority on any important issue is impossible..
I personally though possibly DeDe would take up the challange against her but great day in the North County.. Opposition to our lame duck Senator....

I bet she isnt as good at Facebook as Patty

What democrat issue is she going to run on against Patty Plate that Patty isn't already giving to the free stuff county?
Save the cushy tug hill commission? Nope
Save the SUNY presidents? Nope nope
Property tax hike over sales tax hike? Nope nope nope
Willingness to sign off on Cuomo tax hike? Nope

Some Dems are chatting quietly about her being a McHugh-backed candidate, now that he is an Obama appointee who still has his $100,000+ campaign slush fund at his disposal (see his balance on the FCC website).

Amy beat a local sitting Gop. She good enough looking (yes that counts) and works hard. No push over.

That said it is all about money. How much are they dems willing to put in. The $100 grand is drop in the bucket in this race. It will be a million + run to be close.

The only way a 100k slush fund would get Patty Plate beat is if you ran a real republican against her.
How you going to run left of Patty???
Offer to double Tugg Hill budget?
Offer two SUNY presidents per campus?
Offer to vote for Cuomo's tax increase twice instead of once?
Offer to lower the sales tax even furth below the rest of the counties in the state and raise the property taxes to make up for it?

Want to know how Patty feels about issues? Better ask Jim Reagan.

why the heck do people still refer to her as "Patty Plate"????

Yes... we all know she wants to take ALL the credit for the proposed license plate issue being withdrawn but she was certainly not the initiator to start all the petitions opposing this NOR did she single-handedly defeat the proposal!

Tresidder will be tough competition for Ritchie. She should seal up the Oswego county votes because she's popular there. She unseated a popular Republican to get in the legislature.

McHugh's 100 grand is seed money only.

Amy is about the only Oswego Leg. with a three digit IQ.....She is compassionate and VERY informed. She is a firm, articulate foil to the bumbling chair of the Leg. who was dumped as GOP chair there
Oswego county is about ready to explode as the multiple agencies investigating the IQS padded contract scandal wrap things up...stay tuned

What will Patty Ritchie's platform be this year since the license plate is a non-issue??????

I'm sure she'll find someone else's coattail to ride on.

4:16 is on to something. All the dopes who try to denigrate Patty by adding "plate" really are doing her a service. Most voters appreciate the fact that she played such an important role in making NYS back up on that money grab. It saved us bucks for a bit. You can call her stupid for doing so but most people call you folks stupid for bringing it up. If that's the best you can do, then you lose again.

12:20 makes a great point. Don't forget that the IQS scandal will come back to haunt and maybe indict Patty too. She was in up to her eyeballs.

I called her Patty Plate because that is the name that sticks in my mind from when she first came on the RADAR in Jefferson county. Just like the RINO label it is a back handed complement. People will vote the same either way. Some people think she is a good moderate. Smart people think she is too liberal. Some people think she took undue credit for stamping out the new plates. Smart people think she is smart for getting the mileage out of it that she did regardless.

But she definitely turned the DMV into a profit center and gets credit for that. That makes her the best politician in the state in spite of her RINO tendencies. Of course calling her the best politician in the state is not saying much.
