WDT: Silver intros minimum wage bill

Another defacto tax hike is on the minds of Assembly Democrats...They want to raise the minimum wage to $8.50 and hour from the current $7.25 ....Then they want to link the wage to the CPI, so it will go up every year.
This is very anti-small business...and its patronizing to the "little people" as the inequities are on the high end of the wage scale. There is a cost to this legislation.
But if you are one of those who doesn't think it costs anything, let's raise it to $20 an hour.
It wouldn't surprise me if this passed both houses, and in the end the Governor won't want to be seen as anti labor.

Total job killer; Silver as always pandering to the left wing idiots that actually think this helps poor folk.....

And they wonder why NY continues to lose small business........

Whenever they raise the minimum wage, the big places take a hard look at every labor hour and cut cut cut to the bone and end up saving money.

At the same time the little guys can't absorb it and go out of business. It helps make sure we only have chain restaurants instead of mom and pops.

It is hard to believe the minimum wage is set to the same value in Manhattan as it is in DeKalb.

Silver could personally provide a raised minimum wage to every low wage worker in NY by simply giving back all the money he gets from secret income. There are rumors the legislature will be forced to declare that income next year but I'll bet Silver will find a way to avoid that kind of transparency. Sheldon has done more damage to NYS than any politician in the last fifty years. He should have his own prison named after him. A complete Thug. We have many convicted felons with much more integrity than Sheldon Silver.

Looks like Shelly Sliver who lives off of "Maximum wage" does it again. watch the unemployment rolls and see who gets the blame.

I agree with about everything that's been said above. But just like Ole Goomer Schumer, he keeps getting re-elected, doesn't he? The blame lies squarely on the shoulders of the voters.

Silver can rest assured that Patty and Kenny will vote for it as long as he throws them a bone.

Where does AJR come in on this one? Oh wait. Shelly wants it so she must think it is a good thing for her constituents/

He gets reelected because the state is full of Dannies. Party first everytime. That, and they haven't a brain in their little bitty heads. And they're sucking off the same system that Silver and the Schmuck provides. I wouln't mind so much but all they talk about is the kids. The kids are the ones taking it in the butt so they can steal and live like they do.

Anon 5:12 - your post is sick, plainly sick.

Yes Dan, it is sick, but it is so true and you know it. We've all become advocates for ourselves. There is no defense for the actions of a Silver. But I'm sure you could come up with one. And I'm sure it would be based on blind party loyalty.
