Perry Defends Urinating Marines and Compares Himself to Moses

Rick Perry is right in a sense...the behavior of the Marines who urinated on dead Taliban is not worthy of the full court press for prosecution of what was no doubt an instance of bad judgement during the stress of war. The Administration in Washington is busy condemning the act for the benefit of World opinion.
Whomever took the pictures needs a talking to as well, but that's the way today's world is. The incident reflects poorly on those involved and by extension the entire country....but it's not indicative of the actions of all and is in the end one of those dehumanizing vignettes from war we don't like to see happen...but it does happen.
Rick Perry's other statement of the day has less credence...He compared himself to Moses, who he says was also a poor public speaker.....

This is a lawless, corrupted nation wherein lawlessness & corruption are excused or explained away with shallow rationales by The Ruling Class.

"Rick Perry is right in a sense" ... only in asking what is p*ss*ng on the dead when compared to the accepted-as-routine slaughtering of innocent and defenseless women & children just with those DRONE attacks?

End the Empire.

I can deal with it if they dehumanize the dead enemy as part of what happens to them in the situation they are in. But by committing this act in the presence of a camera they have aided and abetted the enemy. It also hurts us in the court of public opinion, even for the Muslims that are not completely against the US as of yet. That deserves some stiff punishment.

Graham you have lost any shred of respect I might have had for you. You have NO business commenting on this story. I am through with anything you are connected to.

Why does anyone have NO business commenting on this or any other story ?
Graham said it was bad judgment and reflects poorly on many. But has to be kept in perspective.
That's how I feel too.

In past wars our troops....

Took scalps from Native Americans, shot their brothers, took pictures off the dead in WW1 and 2 as prizes, wore human ears, would throw death cards on the enemy as a sign to fear us, and now pissing on them.

Who else knows what has been done in war to keep the boys going. I don't. Never been there. I do know that anyone I knew who went to Nam didn't come back the same man. I was just a kid and could see the change that was done. Men that were kind and good came back almost the same. They just had a few extra add-ons.

What those young Marines did was morally wrong. What they did was a reaction to what they are living through. How many Americans were beheaded and dragged through the streets? Maybe we just got even. As for the drone comments, the air strikes are not targeting civilians and are saving our soldiers lives. The present administration hates the military so expect more criticism.

Why doesn't Dannie commnet on this? I would be interested in hearing his point of view. He's a partisan. But he probably has an interesting opinion on this topic.
