WDT: McGrath Out....B-Bush a Cinch for Second Term

Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush won reelection today when the only person who remotely could have beat him in 2012 dropped out of contention.....Brian McGrath is the Lowville native and high speed lawyer who ran a spirited but unsuccessful campaing in 2010 for the open seat in the 122nd District.
It's a GOP leaning district and Blankenbush has been popular and attentive to constituents....
His only dilemma could be redistricting, but I doubt they will burden Addie Russell with running against him and will likely leave him alone....What else do you do with all that Republican real estate ?
Mr. McGrath can make more as a NYC lawyer or as a gubernatorial appointee....
Watertown Daily Times McGrath won't run in '12

AJR=Seat For Life.

There is one other person who could beat him. You better sit and rethink that.

So he wasn't really a Lewis County resident after all. We figured.

What about Scott Burto ?

But I thought he wanted to return to Lewis County, make his home there, represent his people again, get back to his roots. I'm guessing that was all a lie. Just put out there for the campaign. The Dems should realize that people remember this kind of stuff. Don't assume everybody will forget the next time you try to sell lies to the voters of Lewis County. Ol' Brian was just passin' through on his way to a NYCity party. He only wanted to represent the cows. That's what you are to them.

Why, does Scott Burto have a relative that wants the job?

What a shame, I thought he ran a really good race and would have had a good chance at winning this time against a really ineffective legislator. I still think McGrath will resurface. He is a pretty bright kid.

DANC has been a most effective key component of the North Country community. It may be the most important single agency in the North Country. The City of Watertown and the two major political parties have in recent years made excellent appointments with individuals that actually live in the North Country. This deviation from a proven formula may send us down a slippery slope.

You think McGrath will resurface? As a what? Last time he was packaged a man returning home to save his peeeple. No truth to that packaging.

Scotts relative wants the fire Captains job.

Bright enough to not resurface.....

Nancy Martin has given her blessing for Bill Nelson to attempt to unseat ADJ.. Cant see it happening but you never know.. DeDe will have to make up her mind soon if she wants to be in the race against Ritchie..

DANC is the sleaziest agency in NNY. It gives us things such as the Rodman landfill, then lies about it by expanding the size and scope. This kind of corruption will be easier now that you have NYC lawyers like McGrath on DANC. With no ties to NNY at all, they can make decisions that don't have the north country in mind at all. And mouthpieces like the Watertown Times will happily go along with whatever they are told to go along with. I love NY. Thanks Cuomo. And McGrath will retire a rich man, while only having to attend a few meetings a year. Smells like Junie O'Neil deal.
