Senator Chuck Schumer has completed visits to all of New York's 62 counties this year.....And its the 13th year he has done that....
That explains why he gets reelected and while some might chide him for the annual stunt, its actually a way to keep grounded with the lives of all New Yorkers...He may not see everything and everybody, but Mr.Schumer does visit enough towns and cities, big and small, to have a pretty good idea what the state is all about.
I know his staff is tasked with coming up with reasons for all the visits and they always come through.
Good thing he doesn't represent Iowa...with 99 counties.

I saw where our two NY senators lead the country in travel costs... how about taking a friggin car sometimes. The perks of politics is just plain out of control and it is a bit more embarrassing that our friendly politicians justify it.
Chucky loves new laws just like Alec Baldwin. They just don't like it if the laws apply to themselves. So Alec gets kicked off a plane and Chucky calls the Stewardess a bitch.
Look, there's Schmuck, pointing at some guy in the corner of the room. "Is that the only guy I haven't found a way to screw yet?" And there's Bobby Gorman. "We'll print whatever you say, Sir. Just tell us how you want it worded". Duh.
I gotta give him that..and even though he never misses a chance for self promotion like all politicians(present company excepted)does seem to publicize matters that are important to all NY'ers..not a a democrat but a tip of the cap to him..
After the Hastings airport is built it will be easier to get around, CS got money for this too.
