This evening's best Christmas party in Watertown was at Matt Doheny's Paddock Street home....As you walk in, former scribe and current press flack Jude Seymour was the doorman and the catering was by Savory Cafe....Lots of people there and I showed up in my JETS jersey which I quickly shed when Gang Green fell behind 28-0.
It was a great time and Santa showed up to endorse the likely GOP Congressional candidate....That was a shocker as Santa stands for free s---, while Matt is a staunch free market conservative.
Also there was Ogdensburg Mayor Bill Nelson and his daughter Alaina.......Hizzoner filled me in on what is to happen tomorrow night...but I took a vow of silence at the off-the-record event.
I also ran into Senator Joe Griffo and his wife....Senator Ritchie was not there, leading me to speculate Watertown will end up in a district with Rome.
Had to leave for dinner with a friend at Pete's....

Why would Ritchie want to show up at a party full of republicans? To tax them?
Like Christie, Doheny, based on the photo with Santa, does not look good in a white shirt. Either were a jacket or a different color than white (white is not slimming).
"DEAR EDITOR: I am 8 years old.
"Some of my little friends say there is no Santa Claus.
"Papa says, 'If you see it in THE SUN its so.'
"Please tell me the truth; is there a Santa Claus?
“Yes, VIRGINIA, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy…”
“But there is something else you should know Virginia… Santa is also a ‘Symbol of Free S---.’ Yes Virginia, Santa is a Marxist.
So beginning this Christmas season hence forth… and in keeping with the true spirit of free market conservatism… Santa will be charging a nominal fee of $19.95* per delivery.” **
/cash and credit only/ milk and cookies will NOT be accepted in lieu of payment/ *$4.95 processing fee/ taxes apply/ check locations for availability/ prices are subject to change/ **delivery charge does not include presents, see Elves, North Pole/ ask us about our corporate discounts/
Merry Christmas Virginia...
The pic. with Glenn....Omg please get it framed and hanging someplace in Cityhall. It tells a millon wods all at once.
Not since Robin Leach have we been afforded such insight into the privileged lives of the ruling class.
Lets not let anyone conflate Santa’s philanthropy with Marxism!
Santa owns his own manufacturing and shipping and gives toys of his own free will to deserving good little boys and girls, only after making a list and checking it twice.
That is not the same in the least to Patty and her RINO friends joining with the Marxist democrats and taking two billion dollars of OPM (other peoples money) then doling it out to bad undeserving people such as SUNY presidents, Tug Hill Commission, apartment developers, or for the rehab of an old building.
While driving to Watertown today...I happened on to a few minutes of the "Hot Line" program. Name dropping does not do you well...very few care what Christmas parties you attend and even less care who you saw while at the event. This is bush league and both you and the Five Oclock guy reveled in being heard. Come on...you can do better than this.
Check the list of deadly sins. You just had one. Maybe two?
I didn't hear the hotline but I love the name dropping. It is always interesting to read this blog and hear who is up to what.
Thing is...the only people interested in reading this blog are the same people that want to know who was at Doheny's party. And the best thing is we don't have to rub elbows with these dorks ourselves because Graham does it for us and reports.
One would have to figure the hotline audience is a larger more diverse group than blog audience, but very similar still the same.
A good share of the people in this small area don't even know what BLOG IS. Many don't even use the web. Some couldn't start a car without Ma's help. So ya that makes the blog audience small.
Nice try 11:33 but conservatives have long been espousing the virtues of voluntary charity's such as Santa's over the non-voluntary Marxist type of the democrats.
It is Obama that suggested we should tax charitable donations. It is is his buddy Buffet that uses billions in carry over deductions from his donations to miss-characterize his income tax rate in essence trying to promote the taxing of donations.
It is government charities such as EBT cards that charge a fee for the charity.
Even though your satire falls apart at the seams based on facts, I give you credit for the attempt.
‘It is government charities such as EBT cards that charge a fee for the charity.’
Really? No kidding, I was unaware of this. So, can you provide a link/source for this “fact?”
