Governor Cuomo not only has his personal political skills to help push his agenda, but he has a multi-million dollar advertising effort put forth by the Committee to Save NY, a pro-Cuomo lobbying and advocacy group.
It sure makes life easier when you can go over the head of the usual gatekeepers that guard the public against spins you don't like.
So far, the Governor and Legislature have successfully protrayed the tax deal as a cut in taxes and watching the commercials wouldn't lead you to think otherwise.

That spin is all for naught...the MSN already spun it for him. And the RINO's spun it for him too. And if you listen closely you can here the tires of millionaires spin on down the road to places like Naples FL
A cut in taxes that will bring in a bunch more money. Only in the age of Obama. And Patty goes along with it too. Where are honest people to turn when their government is capable of such lies? Add Cuomo's name to the list of people who stand for nothing.
Watched the evening news last night on a network that remain nameless though it is broadcast on a local station. His spin machine couldn't have done a better job then what the evening newscast did. The broadcast certainly praised him. The broadcast failed to mention that he campaigned on a promise not to raise taxes nor did it mention anything about jobs and high productive people leaving the state.
Cant wait to take the Train Trip to Newton Falls.
The same took place in the WDT. Lies were presented as the truth. JB stated that millionaires paid the same tax rates as families that make $40k. This is a truly misleading statement that doesn't include enough information for comparison. But for the WDT, it's enough to barf up their integrity. Then there's a photo of a grinning Smelly Silver, celebrating the "TAX CUT" that is being proposed. Now when has Smeldon ever been happy about a tax cut? Only when it brings in more money for the state to spend. And our Republican representatives are lining up and bending over with the rest of them. This is a very sad time. Media, pols, they are all sleazy and dishonest. Special congrats to the Watertown Daily Times for bending over so smoothly and quickly.
