Cuomo: Consolidation Is Key

Governor Cuomo says consolidation is the key to correcting NY's inefficient and expensive system of government. But will Mr. Cuomo do more than the rather timid and ineffective village dissolution law ?
If the Governor is serious he will have to take on the sacred cows...The 700+ school districts....the urban sprawl that has turned towns into mini cities without infrastructure....Will Mr. Cuomo propose an Ontario style solution towards amalgamation ?
The Governor already had to retreat on "no new taxes" and I understand you do what you have to do sometimes....Whether anyone will really talk consolidation is in doubt.

So now our Chief Executive Liar is back to the consolidation song. How beautiful. This is the same guy who told us no increase in taxes. He went back on his word. Now he's off on something else and expects the dumbasses of NYS to listen to him. He's probably right. They probably will. Good politician. Dishonest man.

Cuomo is and idiot and has no clue about inefficacy in government and its cause.

Say you know what might be a good consolidation idea…supposing two colleges shared one president?

Hey 919 you hit the nail on the head, how about starting in the county of Jefferson, I believe theres 128 taxing entities.

The Federalist papers and anti federalist papers all warned us about consolidating governments.

You know Democrats love power. They just consolidated the power to approve windmills. took the power away from the local communities and put it in Albany.

Last week they were talking about consolidating the power to give PILOT deals. Again taking it away from locals.

These small hamlets and the cost to the state don't amount to a hill of beans.

Oh Hell yeah SUNY is a bloated pig that will grovel in the public trough at several times the rate of inflation --

5:36 you are right -- Patty thinks that's cool apparently -- she blows smoke about "saving a 200K/ yr bureaucrat !! Oh yeah these guys are credible when they talk about consolidation -- Sure they are ( wink wink)

Consolidation is no answer.

Getting completely rid of NY state gov't is the answer.

Look, it's inefficient & too expensive because it's too damned big in so many ways.
