WDT: Anti Wind Candidates Blow Away Wind Advocates in Cape

The counting of some 400 absentee ballots in the Town of Cape Vincent put the anti-wind crowd in Cape Vincent in the driver's seat and makes it more doubtful wind farms will be built. The absentees are the result of summer home people who have declared the Cape as their primary residence for the purpose of voting.

Don't take it too hard...they could never outnumber the voters in the city of Watertown. Why don't you give BP a call and ask them to scope out Thompson Park for some windmills? Also, there is plenty of swamp land on the south side that has no use other than antennae...and windmills. don't forget about the black river trail too.

Mayor Blog readers:

The wind developers, Acciona Energia and British Petroleum have not dropped out of the local siting process in favor of the Power New York Legislation.
The Cape Vincent Planning Board is still the lead agent in the Cape and Lyme projects and the State, thus far is out of the picture.

It is now likely that Cape Vincent will join Lyme in a wind development moratorium which will give our towns the opportunity to adhere to the comprehensive plan and continue work on the zoning law.

That work was never finished because wind lease conflicted public officials made sure all siting was going in favor of their business partner developers who have been paying them while they sat as public officials. They did not want any rational local laws standing in their way.

The Cape Vincent election was a great victory in favor of Home Rule.

Now, before you jump all over me with your potty talk, consider that in Cape Vincent the people who reside there part of the year while escaping the winter for a few months pay the majority of the taxes. There are approximately 5400 of them and 2700 of us.

And, by the way, our part timers have always supported the schools.

Likewise, in the Urban Hirschey-Harvey White "wind referendum" pro wind wind lease holder White was defeated 2:1.

"Given the opportunity to adhere to the comprehensive plan" blah blah blah...". No Mr Wiley, what you have done is perfectly illustrate the hypocrocy involved with the wind movement. Just like all other forms of energy production, it's just great. Just not around us. And I don't care. Let's just not hear about it next election cycle when our first black president tells us about green this and that and the planet this and that. Because we don't care about that either.

And your continued stupidity about your part time voters/full time taxpayers "always supporting" your fat and happy schools WAS true. But that was before you taught them that they could single handedly swing an election with their votes. Next time you want to build a big gym or a pool or a parking lot for more single wide trailers, consider carefully the costs. Those same imported voters might just remember how easy it was to lead you yocals around by your nose ring, or wherever your ring is located these days. It's never a good idea to teach other people that they have control over you. You know, the old let sleeping dogs lie kinda thing. That's especially true in the land of single wides and imported human waste.

Good post RWiley. Waiting for the turd guy to make his usual insightful analysis of the situation.

Yes, Home Rule. That's when people who live over a hundred miles away make the decisions for your Home Town. Home Rule. Wiley, you're nuts. But as your shower buddy 3:59 says, good post. Mmm mm mm.

If I make so little sense, then why are you guys so defensive about what I say? You react to me every time, and I sincerely appreciate the special attention.

The most important result of the election was routing out the corruption.

Yes, you routed the corruption, by importing votes from people who don't live in your community. The Cape has reached a new low in dishonesty. And humor.

You're wrong. Not only do they live there, they pay the most taxes by far!

The only dishonesty left in Cape was just voted out.

You sound like one of the guys that got kicked out.

The most ironic part is, those morons are responsible for their own demise. And that's funny, so I guess you got the humor part right...

Nope, don't live there. Never will. I do drive by and use the latrine now and then, but I wouldn't invest. I'm not into single wides, so no interest there. I MAY vote there next time around, but I haven't decided. It depends on what comedy you guys are staging next time around. Cape Rochester is the most divided, self-hating, corrupt, but humorous town in this part of the state. My sincere compliments. The only thing you hate more than wind is each other. Green energy all the way. Save the planet. OOO ahhh. Hey, did you see that turtle? Never mind, it was just a Rochester turd.
