WDT: Sheriff Candidate Will Still Campaign But Steps Aside from Department Job

Unsuccessful Lewis County Sheriff candidate (he is still campaigning on a minor party line) Devere Rumble has retired fromt he Sheriff's Department, sparing the new sheriff having to deal with a political foe still in the ranks.
Mr. Rumble did the right thing after getting thumped in the GOP primary and seeing the Democratic Party also endorse opponent Michael Carpinelli int he race to replace retiring Sheriff Michel Tabolt.
Mr. Rumble is still competing on the Independence Party line and as is said, it's not over till it's over....But in this case, its just about over and Lewis County will soon have a new Sheriff.

BUT.....Mr. Mayor that's the whole shame in this deal. A good man who has worked so hard for that county is leaving a job he loves and knows so well because all you have to do is get your name on the right party line. That sucks. You don't have to be good at the job, you don't have to really want to do the job, and you don't have to find anything wrong with the other guy. You just need to get your name on the party lines.

On the 8th people need to go to the poles and really look at who will do the job.....Not just what party they won over at the fancy dinners. Not just a sharp dressed man...Though Devere knows how to dress....A man who will be the best Candidate....Not the best connected one.

Also don't forget...

Where did this guy come from? It wasn't there. It was a big city where the rules are different. Where when people like him come here....They are not happy with what they call small town rules. They want BIG TOWN RULES. I have put togeter in my mind why the special interests of that county all of sudden back an outsider. They are outsiders too. They want people to come in from Rochester and do as they please. They call that FUN. Smashing into trees at 80 miles a hour with their snow machines. Just drinking and hitting the trails....O what fun. Run up and down the trails at high speeds....Just trash our way of life.

People need to start voting. People need to question the outsiders ideas. Don't just say...O it's okay as long as they spend money. Sure it's nice....till a local gets killed on the trail by a dude in a three piece suit high on life.

When it comes to politics, people seem to have short memories. We elected a retired state trooper/ import for sheriff a few years back and it didn't turn out so hot. Lotsa traffic tickets, lotsa increased fees for licenses, etc. (no, I never got a ticket during that time period, but I know a lot of people who did get bs tickets) Now we are going to do it all over again. Oh well................ Mr. Rumble probably did the right thing by retiring now, saves himself a lot of grief later, but I'm still voting for him anyway.
