The challenger and the incumbent in the NNY Congressional race brewing for next year are at odds over an Obama Administration program that was supposed to create jobs through subsidy of the solar panel industry. The Solyndra debacle and other so called "green" energy subsidies are what Rep. Bill Owens thinks is "investment" that carries some risks, but perhaps in Solyndra's case needed better oversight.
Challenger Matt Doheny says its a case of the government trying to pick winners and losers when the marketplace should determine whether these industries should exist.
In the real world the market does make that call. Just look around and see what energy systems consumers use. Very few can afford these systems even with government subsidy.

Bill Owens is wrong on an issue?
When has he been right on an issue?
Taking a chance on future energy technology is bad. But giving billions of tax dollars to oil companies to drill dry holes on public land with 'pay little to nothing' leases is good. Question - Do big mouth conservatives ever stop and thing or do they just parrot what their handlers train them to say?
What does oil company tax policy and leasing policy have to do with conservatives? Your boy had the POTUS and both houses and kept all the rules in place for oil.
This is about an issue the parties actually differ on.
Mr Owens/Pelosi, it isn't the risk we taxpayers are opposed to. It's the fact that these loans went to thugs closely associated with Donkey party operatives. The entire deal was crooked as hell. Try a little honesty with your BS.
