Dave Mance travelled to the County building today and cast his absentee vote for the coming election...It will be his last vote in a city election as the sale of his Thompson Blvd home is due to close on November 11, three days after the election.
Dave has been a part of the community for decades as a businessman, volunteer and supporter of charities. His only real sin in life is sending a hoax wedding photo to the newspaper.
I assume Dave will register at his Florida winter home so he can influence the awarding of the Sunshine State's electoral votes next year.
After voting, Dave and his buddy Jim Nicholson invited me to lunch with noted local attorney Lee Hector.
I said sure, why not...and ask Dave where I should meet him....He said the Kilt and I gasp as going there would reenforce the talking points. But, hey the Tilted Kilt is owned by a prominent businesswoman, Zoo board president and sure to be a future Athena Award winner...so with the imprimatur of establishment secure, I went and had a salad and two Miller Lite drafts.
The only notice of the waitresses was Hector wondering why women these days have so many tattoos.

No picture of your waitress for the blog?
Never mind, I guess...now that you mentioned the tats.
Tats are the new way to get attention...instead of working out for that hot bod...or accomplishing something impressive...you just express yourself through other people's art, with other peoples ideas...you steal off the net or from some movie.
bet he didnt vote for you and was chuckling to himself about it..
As the people from Cape Vincent have proven, you don't have to live anywhere in particular to vote somewhere. Just because Mance sold his house here doesn't mean he can't vote here. You can now vote anywhere you want.

That's right, and wind turbines will make us completely independent of foreign oil and will save the planet in the process... LOL
Okay here comes the da patrol...
First... He should have posted a pic...it's a blog and that's what I came here looking for...entertainment...
Second.... Who cares if he voted for the Prince of Santa-Fay....He is still a good friend....See you just don't understand friends.
Third and last.... Holy crap...The dude still owns his house to after the election....So by law he has the right to vote here. Same as the people in the Cape who OWN SUMMER HOMES THERE. Is it great that they come in for a few weeks every year and run the place? Hey I get it...I grew up in Chaumont....They can suck. But...By law they own a house and have the right to vote.
Three examples of bull crap that ....let's face it....you really had nothing to post.
Nothing wrong with the Tilted Kilt. I've been there a few times.
Good choice on the beer, shows you're one of us. Should have gone with something deep fried though, the salad may affect your poll numbers.
My favorite Mance quote; "Glenn man...remember the letter".
Great, now the sound of Glenn repeating that line on his megaphone will be running though my head all day!

Don't be so scared and defensive. I'm simply pointing out that people can vote where they want, when they want. LOL
I wouldn't be surprised if Mance votes in your next wind election even if he lives in Florida. I know I will, and I live no where near you. I'm voting on the NO WIND/MORE TRAILERS ticket. That do seem to be your focus down there.
just a joke on the chuckling thing Ray the picure looked funny! No harm meant.. :)
Hey sorry then....I'm a little on edge. Need less of something. :)
