As usual the Mail Online has the best tick-tock on the final hours of Moammar Gaddafi. It didn't end well for him, but considering the misery he has caused, a just demise.

Hillary and Obie were not very civilized in their response.
What, no ACLU lawyer, no due process, no trial in NYC with AG Holder stickin' up for him? This is just wrong. If this were GW we'd be hearing sob stories. Dan?
Typical cowardly bully, good riddance to a bad seed..I remember when PanAm 103 went down, and the disbelief and anger people felt when it was learned the crash was caused by a deliberate act of terrorists. He got everything he deserved, hope he is sizzling like a sausage on a griddle in hell now..been a rough year for terrorists and dictators, good job Uncle Sam and allies!
Great front page on the NY POST. At least Yankee fans have some value.
Truth be known, Libya was invaded and Gaddafi was killed because he had plans to introduce the gold dinar as currency that could very easily have become the major currency in at least North Africa and probably within the oil market itself.
Libya also has the ninth largest oil reserve in the world and the main oil reserve in all of Africa.
He may have got what he deserved but this still has the stink of oil and greed written all over it.
“Democracy and payback for Lockerbie” is nothing more than a made up pretext to justify the action.
Who has killed more people, do you think? Obama or Gaddafi? Bush or Gaddafi? No, Gaddafi was not a nice fellow. Just isn't the stuff of dictators. But there is something very wrong with a nation that cheers the killing of Gaddafi and drops cluster munitions on Afghan wedding parties. With a nation being at war somewhere for 7decades and accepts this as normal behavior.
Uh, um, yes, 1:33 and 3:23, we are a very bad nation. Oil is terrible. That's why I love windiness.
What freakin' idiots.
Agreed, fortunately this is a free country so make your reservations to whichever 3rd world sh&@hole you prefer.. am sure they would give you a laurel, and hearty handshake..
I wonder who's next on the U.S. governments hit list?
Pee Wee Herman....Card number 2. :)
I wonder who's next on the U.S. governments hit list?
I don't know but be afraid...be very afraid...you could be next.
Once again the USA has shown they will randomly assassinate any ol' good-guy...and by randomly I mean for oil, of course.
But the good news for you is that it avoided one of those unspeakable water-boarding incidents. You must be happy abut that, right?
During Dessert Storm the media jackals said we were there for the oil. We never got a drop. 12:14 thinks we took out Gaddafi for oil. We got him because he was a murdering nutcase who supported the Lockerbie air liner crash. You help crash our planes, we kill you. It was NOT a random event.
3:58 You have to be gentle with dumbasses. They have memorized that oil line from junior college and they have nothing else to hang on to. You'd be sick too if that's the only argument you ever had. It be tough for them.
When you consider that Gaddafi was a well known CIA collaborator -- water-boarding would seem more like an exercise in futility.
Of course they could have done it anyways, just for the “fun of it.”
You must be disappointed about that…RIGHT?
But wasn’t only a few years ago when Ghaddafi was deemed “rehabilitated” by Bush, Blair, et al, for publicly renouncing his country’s alleged “nuclear weapons program?”
And wasn’t he praised for his “statesman-like actions”, contrasting Qaddafi with then “madman Saddam Hussein”, who -- as we know -- “had weapons of mass destruction”, according to Dick Cheney’s many statements in 2003?
Now it’s payback time for Lockerbie?
Seriously, who are the dumb asses?
Hang on sport, gaddafi and hussein are done, along with numerous other nasty critters..get used to it cause the good guys are getting after it..
Terrorists deserve no quarter, and if you don't understand diplomacy in trying to checkmate these people, maybe you should follow something else, like checkers..
7:54PM, I don’t think anyone in their right mind would try and characterized Ghaddafi as cuddly.
But are you so naive as to buy into the “good guy vs. bad guy” grade school level propaganda horse sh*t that’s being dished out?
Lest we forget, this started out as a “humanitarian” mission to come to the aid of the citizens of Benghazi, and almost immediately David Cameron started talking about “regime change.” Funny, wasn’t Ghaddafi considered the North African stronghold against al Qaeda (terrorists) until very recently?
Surprise -- a few of days ago Cameron welcomes Ghaddafi’s death, highlighting of course, Lockerbie, etc.
Morning headlines -- “That’s for Lockerbie.”
Now when you view this muddle through the usual rose tinted retro spectroscope from our convenient moral high ground, we see a nice clean and fully justified western adventure:
Goals defined (check); Libyans safe (check); Evil nut job dead (yee-ha); Lockerbie avenged (take that, you mofo); Gullible dumb-downed public sold on all the above through controlled media outlets (you betcha); 7:54PM among the gullible dumbed-downed public (double check).
U.S. you the MAN!
Meh, and maybe some Libyans suffered too…
The entire thrust of this affair is a textbook pattern of a CIA backed coup; U.S. driven with the help of a compliant NATO and our allies Great Britain and France.
However, the motivation had nothing to do with heads of state (Ghaddafi ) and their treatment of its citizens or Lockerbie, save the servitude to western interests… a business friendly attitude in an obedient posture.
And of course your still missing the point -- Today’s “freedom fighter” is tomorrows “terrorist” as long as it serves a means to an end – the rule of law and the Constitution be damned!
Your right about one thing though 7:54PM, “terrorists deserve no quarter…”
And sometimes the “devil you know is better than the devil you don’t"… CHECKMATE!!

President Eisenhower , remember him. Republican , War hero , Supreme Commander of the Allied Troops in WWII said it best upon leaving the presidency : "Beware the Military?Industrial Complex"
If there are any naive people out there u just keep believing the "spin cycle" you are told on EVERY subject that relates to OLD Ike's warning.
I'd say we have cause for a healthy degree of skepticism in most cases .
Nothing is ever what it seems --in today's reality and global economics there simply are strategies employed done which the average citizen has little awareness about .
Is it perfect - NO
But we need to realize that in the end its all about $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and who gets it and who controls what and how will the sectors Ike mentioned profit from it
"blah blah blah blah,U.S. IS BAD!! blah blah blah.." SOS...
True, Eisenhower, in the final hours of his presidency, did expose the MIC by calling it the “greatest threat to our democracy,” but John Kennedy, also a war hero, in the midst of his presidency made a decision to actively resist that same threat.
At that time the military-industrial complex was entirely reliant on a “Pax Americana enforced on the world by American weapons of war.”
After the Cuban missile crisis JFK set out to do three things:
First, he began negotiations with the Soviet Union on a nuclear test ban treaty.
Second, he was about to begin to open up a back-door dialogue with Castro in Cuba.
The third mistake, as far as the MIC was concerned, was Vietnam. Kennedy agonized over the early deaths of American soldiers so he began to look for a way out. On October 11, 1963 he signed off on a presidential order for the withdrawal of 1,000 US troops from Vietnam by the end of the year, with a complete troop withdrawal by the end of 1965.
Of course, we all know what happened there.
TPTB were opposed to Kennedy's turn toward peace. So essentially he was locked in a struggle with his own national security state. [MIC, CIA] And they, of course, had a different agenda.
When Kennedy called for a "general and complete mutual disarmament” in relation to Russia, his fate was sealed.
It is my personal belief that since JFK’s assassination, TPTB have been running the show.
Most of what we see and hear is nothing more than an illusion designed for public consumption.
