Legislators say they are getting "kill the rich" emails as a decision nears in December on extending the Paterson era tax on well to do folks. Governor Cuomo had refused to seek an extension during last springs budget deliberations...However the national dialogue is emphasizing a "balanced" approach which is basicly tax the rich without the death threats.
The 'occupy Wall Street' protests in NYC and elsewhere are ratcheting up debate on the stratification of wealth in our culture.....
Of course, lost in all this is if you kill the rich, it will be harder for them to pay taxes.

That new millionaire lottery winner in Carthage needs to pay more. Letting him keep his 57% is too generous of us. He should be happy keeping 570,000 dollars and would not notice if he only keeps 560,000. Its for the children! New york should not be happy being the third highest income tax state. We want to be number one!
Kinda like the idiot protesters holding the signs "Tax Wall Street Tranactions". Is it really possible that these bufoons are so stupid that they don't realize they are advocating taxing themselves? But then again, these Wall Street protesters are the children and grandchildren of the 1960's hippies, so I suppose it is understandable. Don't get me wrong, this is America and they have every right to make their voice heard. More power to em. But the protests in Wisconsin and the current protests going on now is a pretty graphic example that intelligence isn't a required commodity for protesting. The 60's hippies didn't know anything then and obviously the genetics have bred true. Please don't ask for a clarification of the advocating taxing themselves part. If you can't figure that one out for yourself, you are proving my point.
