WDT: Race Turns Testy But I Have a Job to Do

After writing this paragraph I have to get dressed to attend an 8am JCC event at the Historical Society. Then its off to chair the monthly meeting of the Watertown Local Development Corporation...a little work at my business and then tonight its off to Henderson to make a presentation at the Chamber dinner.
Campaigns are about comparisons and its the red meat that gets attention...But in the end there is a job to do, and I know that.

It's a good thing we pay you so well to do this job. On a morning like this I'd be tempted to just roll over and go back to sleep.

Jeff, as a student of baseball, I'm surprised you haven't commented on Newzjunky's continuing genius with diamond humor in their headlines. Today they led with SWEEPLESS IN SEATTLE, with an understory of BATS TOO BAD. This kind of positive foolishness has being going on a while with them folks. Some of their most creative ideas have been about baseball. We don't get that kind of entertainment with the more staid outlets in the area. Thanks to Newzjunky!

Good speech mayor. You can hit those baritone notes like Barry so you got to work on that and get close to the mike to exaggerate that bass. Then after that you can work on the tempo. Also it is a little long but I know it is difficult to choose what to cut.

After that you can work on putting your hand up like a priest, biting your lip and pointing your thumb as it clenches on your index knuckle in a closed fist.

Did I hear you correctly that if Smith wins he gets to single handedly name his replacement?
If he gets one more vote on his side would that be enough to spend all that money on the geothermal HVAC system for city hall?

You forgot to mention how much it will cost to maintain this complicated system that would be unfamiliar to all the HVAC repair people in the area.

No need to get testy Mayor, you're like as not going to win if for no other reason than voter apathy.

Now if you had some serious opposition...say the Burns gal, I think it would be time to start collecting moving boxes.

Laughing at you all. said...

look at it this way.... Mr. Smith can vote ya or na right now on the same stuff and we get to pay him less....Win Win Win.

Jeff; I figured as much that you would not probably print my comments, but I will stick with what I said. I even used my name, could have used anon; Not digging for anything, just makes a person wonder.

Nothing to wonder about, Jeff likes to censor comments that are not to his liking and says so openly. It’s just that it makes his blog meaningless, as a discussion forum, but that doesn’t bother the Mayor as long as he can promote himself anyway he wants. Too bad really he could have had a good political blog here and once did when people could speak their mind openly.

With all due respect, that's what a blog is...I don't run this to attempt to replicate the web boards, and yes I due monitor postings.
A blog is intended as a site for the author to share his views and tell those interested what he is doing...

I dunno...I have had a few comments not make it through the gatekeeper, that I assume Jeff did not like the content of, since I did not use bad words. But then again I wonder if I just got the word verification wrong and didn't notice.

One thing is for sure...Graham has let a lot of things get posted here that reflect poorly on him or harshly criticize him and has been a good sport about it. I don't think he ever said he was perfect or had all the answers. But if you are going to complain because the blog owner doesn't let every one of your insults get posted then you sound like a crybaby fool.

I find it interesting that the local Economic Development Czars are taking someone to court over sandwich rolls, and lending the same person money. Seems odd dont it.
