Its Just a Blog...Don't Take It Too Seriously

I get a chuckle when people write in and complain this blog is propagada for me and that photos and posts here are self serving.
   No kidding ?
Of course they are. It's my blog. This is not and should not be your primary or secondary source for news. Its not fair and balanced.
Its a hobby for me, since I enjoy writing and its a way for me to keep informed as I have to read a lot to keep up to date.  I do this in lieu of playing golf.
Most of all, its a self promotion tool.  I use the blog to express my opinions and to tell constituents what I am up to, in hopes it helps me politically.
Whatever audience there is results from my work product.
And no, the comment section is not an open forum. While I post most comments, I am not allowing the blog to be a pin cushion for those wanting to zing me. Start your own blog for that...They are free of charge.
    This is a blog...nothing more.

Right on Jeff. Do not listen to the lower emotional states of others. I find most of the locals are clueless and honestly really closed minded. Alwyas be true to youself and go with the change jeff. Change will happen no matter what and its better to fight it head on then turn a blindeye.Specially the ones who gives themself labels instantly and wanna seperate from the others.

There are dynamic people and there are those who are satisfied with only talking about what is being done. Not necessarily a leadership quality but nothing to be ashamed of it's the reporter in you just trying to keep the people informed.

Kind of goes along well with the old saying which holds true here in good old Watertown, "When everything is said and done there will be a lot more said than done".

Don't be so hard on yourself. You are a lot more fair and balanced than any major news source.

You let countless comments go through that criticize you too. I assume all in the interest of open discussion but no matter what the reason you are a better sport than I can imagine anyone else being on their own blog.

If you were really interested in self promotion, you would take up golf instead. Let me assure you that is where the big promotions are seized. You certainly will not promote yourself by speaking candidly on a blog. So admit it...while there is apt to be a little self promotion from time to time...that will be easily canceled out by your next blog entry. This blog is here because you just like to talk and debate politics.

Those photos of the London riots are unbelievable. We may be broke but at least we're not burning each other down, yet. That'll come when the FreeStuff people get less FreeStuff. Yeah right. It certainly won't come when the people paying for it get mad, as that will never happen.

Nothing wrong at all with self promotion and being open for everyone to read. You want to eliminate the criticism, make people have to log in and NOT hide behind an anonymous post. Just remember, It's just facebook, Why so serious?

Hell London is the home of the give-away. It helps none. These people have to much in the first place. To much time for one.

CR, we gotta work on the to's and too's. It ain't that hard.

Well Put Jeff. Using a similar explanation for my blog, my readers just did not get it. They continued to use their right/power of anonymity to criticize me or my family. Even though I was only voicing my meager opinions about local politics. I even suggested that if they did not like my blog then they should exercise that other freedom and choose not to read it. That did not work either. Comments are disabled now.

Don't care. Just that.

Yes. Went back (to) school. See what you mean. The people have (too) much time. Only (two) or three of them (too).

I really don't mean it by the way. Head get's lost in the woods.
