Everybody Needs a Break from Bad News..Including the President

Another 400 point drop in the Dow and the jitters sweep the country...or at least the talking heads....
But should the President cancel his vacation ?
The GOP says the Martha's Vineyard holiday is too showy...to out of touch with the weekend at Wescott's Beach that the little people take...Some are saying those with the means should not live well or vacation well...They should stay home in solidarity with the down and out.
Optics, they call it in politics.
But what about all the people who make money off vacations ? The hotels, restaurants, other attractions. Remember when the President scolded America for spending time on Las Vegas and Vegas got mad...That's there living.
Good for those making a buck off the President's ritzy vacation, as they won't have to wait for the President's jobs speech slated for September.
World markets continue their sell-off Friday - Aug. 19, 2011

We're better off if the chosen one goes somewhere. Fewer teleprompter press conferences.

Republicans are selective with their facts, aren't they.
Up to this point in their respective presidencies,----

Obama, ---- 61 days of "vacation" G.W. Bush--180 days
Clinton, -- 28 days
Reagan,--- 112 days.

GW was a vacationing Texas fool when he wasn't landing on aircraft carriers shouting "Mission Accomplished". Yeah. Wonder if that counted as a vacation day.
Perry would be the same.
Your hero Reagan liked his time at the California ranch. Probably made it easier to raise taxes and the debt limit when relaxed.
But we can't bring in a LOT of facts about a situation, can we.
Muddy up partisan talking points.

If he would just go and not make sure all of us poor people know about it. That would show some smarts.

So Reagan gets the blame for what Tip O'Neill sent him and gets no credit for all the rejecting he did to O'Neill's porky omnibus bills?

And a working vacation on a ranch is the same as a Jagiellon dollars of tax payer money vacation at Martha's vineyard?

But we can't bring a lot of facts into the discussion because it muddies up the water the libtards are carrying for Obama.

12% unemployment in California. It's a good thing that place is a strong blue state.

11:44 It's good for the country when that idiot plays golf. I encourage him to do so daily.

With the record of lying then defending it going on around here who is going to believe your numbers, 11:44?

4:59 Proof ususually doesn't do any good here, it screws with the crazies heads when you present fact, but this is where those numbers came from. cbsnews.com politics

"So Reagan gets the blame for what Tip O'Neill sent him and gets no credit for all the rejecting he did to O'Neill's porky omnibus bills?"---yeah, that's right. He was the man.

"And a working vacation on a ranch is the same as a Jagiellon dollars of tax payer money vacation at Martha's vineyard?"-- Bush dragged half the working government down there with him when he went. At taxpayer expense. And he did it 77 times totaling 490 days. He owes me money.

Back to the "Libtard" stuff, Puke man? Someday you might come up with something that could be seen as a valid point. Nobody will listen.
Slapped around a little as a kid, huh? Probably still.

11:44's numbers appear to be correct.

"....And a working vacation on a ranch is the same as a Jagiellon dollars of tax payer money vacation at Martha's vineyard?".... This is just great. What in the hell is this poster thinking?? A working vacation on a ranch?? He is the frikkin President of the United States!!! What work was he producing for the country??. He is not a rancher. If memory serves, Clinton always went to Martha's Vineyard. But Obama can't go there for a vay cay. No way! But hey, it's not because he's BLACK!!!

Nah, I proved my numbers too. It didn't matter. It was a lot easier to prove the price of gas than vacation days, but it mattered not a bit to the lying Kelmwit. I question whether these numbers were taken in total without figuring in the implication of cold weather without prices being factored into the costs of new TBills vs the feedback blah blah blah. I'm trying to learn Limwit's methodology. In other words, we're gonna do it your way, Kelwit. Whatever I say is deemed to be a lie. Therefore, whatever you say is a lie. That does seem to be the way need to live. Our politics are much more important than our word, as proven by you.

I don't know how you would measure just how many days are vacation days anyway. The price of gas was pretty well cut and dried. But again, if you said it, it's a lie. I'm livin' your way from now on.

Gettin' a little beat down, aren't you Puke guy? (I capialize the 1st letter in Puke out of respect)
That was a bigger bunch of ramblin' nothing than you usually put up.
Get a second wind. We'd miss you.
Gotta be tough when people start to see you for what you are. Then start telling you.

Not feelin' "beat down" at all, Limwit. And I do appreciate your respect. The problem you will have is the facts involved in many of these issues will not change. Spin is something you can manipulate. Truth isn't. You never seem to want to address the issue. $1.65 a gallon when the Great One took office. You lied when you denied that fact. Own up my little man. These truths won't go away no matter how many times you attempt to change the subject. Your turn.

Puke has been on vacation, yet you guys act like you miss it. I guess I'll have to get him to come back early. Puke is not solely about dishonesty, so this current situation is not exactly relevant. But I understand you're desire to lavish Puke under these conditions.

I can’t see any other way to put it. Libtard is the perfect portmanteau describing the Obama apologists to a Tea.Although some could rightly argue the word to be superfluous or redundant, it is a necessary redundancy, because seeing the redundancy takes slightly more than nominal life experience and knowledge of history and politics.

The point has already been made along with game set and match. When Obama starts bringing Vladimir Putin, Tony Blair, Vicente Fox or King Abdullah, to name a few out of dozens of dignitaries, to Martha’s Vineyard for official meetings with him, then you can equate Bush’s Ranch with Obama’s spending spree vacations.

And if you pretend the phrase “dead on arrival” was never uttered by Reagan and that his veto pen did not get used, or when the president is deemed to be dictator then you can blame Reagan for Tip O’Neil’s spending and taxes.

I’m not normally in favor of slapping people around but it sounds like a certain libtard commentator on this blog could have used a few spankings when he was a kid…or now.

apologies to everyone for crazy wingnut troll polluting this thread with his craziness from the michelle bachmann gas prices thread. (for those who have quite understandably not been following that thread, here's a little summary of what has the troll so the troll so upset. long story short, he can't read.)

suffice it to say, crazy wingnut troll is simply unable to process reality. and so he just makes stuff up. if you have the stomach, take a look at the bachmann thread to see it in action.

If you tell a lie often enough, people might start to believe it is the truth. Is that your hope, Kelmwit? To some, spin is more important than reputation. You will never live this down, Limwit, unless you apologize, or walk away. Anyone can read for themselves what you said. No amount of spin will change the facts. You should at least have the sense to pick a different battle. It's kinda like arguing there are 57 states. It really isn't going to work, although if this is any indication, you surely would make a never ending claim otherwise. I'm reminded of the debate over the definition of the word 'is'. That was one of your champeeeens too, wasn't it, birdboy? $1.65/gal in 12/08 really is $1.65/gal in 12/08. Unless you can explain that away with some verbage known only to liberal liars. You da man. Your turn, birdman. Feelin' motivated? Go to work.

surely nobody reading this thread cares, but yes, the crazy wingnut troll is living in a fever dream. indeed anyone (except him, apparently) can read what i and his white whale 7:25 wrote in the above-linked bachmann thread. anyone can see that the troll is off in the land of make believe. neither i nor 7:25 said the troll was wrong about his much-beloved price of gas in december 2008. all 7:25 said about gas prices was

And the avg.gas price in April '08 was $3.15, July of '08 was over $4, In Sept., still around $3.80.

zero mention of the december gas price. zero challenge to the troll's precious fact. but still the troll immediately flew off the handle and demanded an apology, because he hallucinated something that wasn't there.

i don't know why it's so hard for the troll to admit his mistake now, or why he's so driven to dream up conflict like this, but i guess that's for him and his therapist to sort out.

i've said from the very beginning that the troll was correct about the december gas price. he desperately wants it to be otherwise. indeed he's convinced himself that it is otherwise. he's created a new reality. but it's just not so. the facts are all against him. this "$1.65/gal in 12/08 really is $1.65/gal in 12/08" stuff amounts to the ravings of a lunatic, one who's convinced that his shadow is out to get him.

and now we can all look forward to another deranged go-round from the troll, full of insults and spectacular imaginings. but i can guarantee you, one thing his reply won't contain is any actual quotes. there won't be any links. there won't be any evidence whatsoever. he'll just say whatever he wants. he'll continue to lie about what i and 7:25 have said. if what he's been saying about me and 7:25 was based in reality, then it would be very easy to back it up with quotes or links. just like i did above. but what he's been saying is based in crazytown. so more crazy is all you're going to get.

Gee, on another thread Klimwit already apologized. Here, he continues the attempt to rewrite reality. The bird even lies to himself. It is very difficult for some to admit they screwed up. Simple as that. But he does in the other thread so who knows what to believe. $1.65 a gallon when the Great One took office. That's the fact to focus on. That's the fact that upsets Limwit the most. This has little to do with me.
