Oh boy...The White House is playing politics, asking (demanding) a speech to a joint session of Congress on the same evening Rick Perry debuts in a GOP debate on NBC.
The President wants to give his jobs speech...That's because everybody says he should be talking jobs, jobs, jobs.....Doesn't matter if we cannot afford what he is proposing....or even whether it will work...
You see, you have to be seen doing something, even though one of the Nation's problems is that people really thing the POTUS stands behind a curtain pulling the levers of the economy.
It's all an illusion and the speech he will give is largely nonsense...regrettably little more of substance will come from the NBC debate the same evening.

Obama is a fool. No more stupid than we are by putting him in there in first place.
Politics or not, my understanding is that the President can't “demand” such an address ... but history tells us the Speaker of the House has always obliged the request with an invitation. So, when Mr. Boehner suggested a different day-- that broke the established practice and accepted protocol and creates yet another dubious point in our Governments historic playbook. Politics?
On the issue of “jobs”... the Republicans can’t be bothered to talk about jobs because it interferes with their agenda of serving their corporate masters.
The Democrats, on the hand, can be bothered to talk about jobs... but so far, that's all they do is talk-- no action.
It seems we are all in the grip of a NON-representational form of Government that is more concerned about scoring political points than achieving anything of substance.
As far as “who is pulling the levers”... look no further than the Wall Street plutocrats.
That being said... Saints 34, Packers 31.
Geeeze, that "corporate masters" line was reeely neat. Is a corporate master kinda like Jeffrey Immelt, the guy who spends most of his time under the Great One's desk and whose corporation has moved largely overseas and who payed no corporate taxes? Or does that not fit your BS, 12:32?

The "Corporate Masters" and the well to do ARE the ones who create the jobs in the first place by owning the Corporations and Businesses that EMPLOY people....simple Economics 101 mind you. If a Government decides to stifle Corporate job growth, et al. thru taxes and/or "assessments" these Corporations will collectively go to where the business climate is more friendly, and labor is cheaper. You can blame the Republicans all day long, but until the Obama Administration decides that it's in the best interest of AMERICA to keep the jobs HERE instead of sending them overseas, you're pretty-much chimin'-in with the likes of Al Gore there son!
Oh for chrism's sake...it broke protocol to not allow the POTUS to dictate the scheduled day of the address??? I doubt it.
But maybe it breaks protocol to request such an address to deliver a petty partisan pontification.
Hey, now that Gillibrand has lost all that weight and is a model type senator, will she be wearing a small bathing suit when she shows up on that island for her party? If she do, I'm going by to see if I can catch of glimpse of my favorite senator, at least since she lost all that weight. She is such great leader. I should call Schumer's office to see what he told her to wear.
In his letter to the Speaker, the President asked "respectfully" to speak ... he did not demand anything.
Boehner is playing politics just to allow members to watch the GOPers debate ...
Dannie would recognize what "playing politics" was all about. He's our local partisan expert. Obama has done nothing to help the job situation since he's been in office. What's another day for a failure like him?
"Obama has done nothing to help the job situation since he's been in office..."
True-but the republicans have done less.
LMAO… Max, you can’t be serious.
There you go again spewing the same old entirely bogus and stale right wing talking points from Limbaugh, Hannity and Fake News…“et.al.”
The outsourcing of jobs has very little to do with taxes and everything to do with paying some poor bastard in China $100.00 a month vs. using the same labor here and paying $3,000 or $4,000 a month. It’s called MAX-amizing profits MAX at the expense of the American people. You know, High School economics “mind you”.
It's ironic that America is supposed to be a capitalist nation yet we do the majority of our business with a COMMUNIST country… don’t you think Max?
Or, maybe you and your cohorts envision a day where the American worker is making $100.00 dollars a month.
Oh, that’s right your corporate slave masters are working on that.
I want Danny to paddle down my way and go to one of my BBQs.
“Obama has done nothing to help the job situation since he's been in office. What's another day for a failure like him?”
True… but the republicans have done even less.
“The "Corporate Masters" and the well to do ARE the ones who create the jobs in the first place by owning the Corporations and Businesses that EMPLOY people....simple Economics 101 mind you.”

Just like in my former country of Uganda, the government can not make jobs. We can order people to hire others if we please. But we make no jobs.

No kidding...there's a tea party over there too.
To da CopyGuy. You have one basic problem. Your guy's record. You can spin and fluff and retell and lie and TeaParty and barf. But you still have that record. Me, I gots a job. I don't care. Your serve. Simple suggestion. Try to rewrite the record. That's your real challenge. I gotta fresh bowl of popcorn and I'll be watchin' your game. Best of luck, CopyGuy.
The CopyGuy now copies himself. Cool. That should get him some exposure.
Git it.

Rewriting records is for you and your ilk “little man.”
How about some actual facts for a change.
Hmm, let’s see… there seems to be two theories at work here.
Democratic Theory:
-Invest in our country in order to create jobs, by…
-Targeted tax cuts to stimulate SMALL BUSSINESSES and helping companies develop new technology.
-Spending money on education, training, and projects such as rebuilding our infrastructure that helps put people to work.
-Assistance to people who have been laid off during tough economic times.
Republican Theory:
-Government should not be responsible for creating new jobs.
-The wealthiest Americans are “job creators” and…
-If we cut taxes for LARGE corporate interest and the wealthy, they will use that money to invest in THIER businesses and that will create jobs.
Which theory works?
Your turn “little man.” I can hardly wait to see your failed attempt.
“Me, I gots a job. I don't care.”
LOL… Hopefully, it doesn’t’ require use of the English language.
But hey... for what it's worth, "I gots a job" too...and I still care.
