Brad Paisley Fans Arrested...But That Doesn't Mean It Wasn't a Good Time

The 54 arrests at this western NY concert are likely the result of police actively enforcing the law as opposed to adhering to the Willie Nelson Rule, which is to say you overlook some things at a concert you wouldn't overlook on the street.
By virtue of the arrests, a concert most people likely enjoyed appears in the MSM to be bad and evil.
Meanwhile for those who understand the correlation between having issues and consumption of the devil's brew.....Alcohol sales at Reba were $19,000 compared to the $61,000 at the Hip at the point they ran out of beer.
Tonight in Watertown there is a concert by Buckcherry and a meeting will be held soon to work out the logistics on the Godsmack concert for August 20. Meanwhile Jim Kenyon of TV3 is coming up to do a story on the issue.

So you and the manager were right about demographics. Reba fans drank less than one third of what Hip fans drank.
So just limit the drinking and there's no problem.

Am I missing something about this Hip concert? Aside from the guy who stole the truck, were there any other arrests? As far as the peeing, if they had planned it better and had more toilets, that would not have been an issue. That and they shouldn't have let the crowd in so early to tailgate. I just don't get how some are making the concert into some sort of Sodom and Gomorrah when it really was fairly tame.

Instead of quoting the revenue for beer,
how about using some statistics that don't lie?
You are trying to portray the Hip fans as drinking more that the old fossil Reba fans.
So quote drinks per fan instead.
That will give us a true picture and take into account difference in number of fans and any difference in prices charged per drink.

$61,000 at $5 a beer and 6000 people is an aveage of two beers a person. Wow what a bunch of hardocre drinkers. Seems like Brad's concert brought alot of "bad elements" along with him. Godsmack is playing there tonight lets see how bad it is in tomorrows paper. I was at Papa Roch a couple months ago and it was a great show with no trouble and that is the same crowd you are going to get with Godsmack.

Exactly what demographics are you referring to?

It seems to me that the multiple arrests at the Brad Paisley concert…a country and western act disproves the assumption that the “bad element” perception is exclusive to any particular genre of music.

Most of the potential troubles can be alleviated with proper planning, implementation, enforcement, and cooperation from all parties involved…including the fans.

Why are we , meaning the city, so concerned with what people may drink, or what kind of music, they may like? The city reaction is more in tune to the movie, "Footloose", that I feel is a strong comparison. They say that you are only as old as you feel;hell my mother lived to 88, and she didn't feel as old as some of those in city gov't.
