State To Close Seven Prisons, None Here

Governor Cuomo is planning to close seven prisons...but none in the Watertown area....The announcement today spares the Dry Hill facility near Watertown and a pair of prisons in Ogdensburg.
Since its other people's prison's being closed, we enthusiastically support the plan.

As it should be.
There is no way downstate can do it as cheap as us.
Even if we had to build new prisons up here it would still be cheaper.

I assume the "Not in my backyard" comment was done with tongue in cheek.

I guess all those cheap shots against Patty will now be apologized for. Nah. They were just partisan stupidity anyway. No one would expect an apology from dumbasses.

CO's don't apologize they are too macho :>)

Nah, them were democrat operatives. Secret squirrel types. Down low tinkers. Real hush hush high level puke breaths. Progressives.

This was a great save by our legislator. I believe OCF and WCF were high on the list of closures. Next year, the story will repeat.

Great save for whom ?? , i think not for anyone but CO's-- that's right from the NYSCOPBA playbook

NNY Prisons are no asset They result in too much social and neighborhood decay from their fallout and in reality are just a dumping ground for downstate NYs garbage .

NNY needs Private sector tax-generating revenue NOT an over-dependence on prisons that contribute nothing in the way of quality of life for the general tax paying public

8:49 I see some of your point. The state could probably have closed more of them.
