President Obama is in NYC today if not to spike the football, to at least spend a little time in the end zone savoring the moment. The President will travel to Ground Zero for a wreath laying to mark Sunday's killing of Osama bin Laden by US commandos who stormed his Pakistan home.
This September is the tenth anniversary of the attack on the World Trade Center, so there will no doubt be heavy duty ceremonies then.
Today's ceremony was passed up on by Presidents Bush and Clinton who were invited. Maybe Jimmy Carter would have come.
The President has also taped an interview for 60 Minutes which will air Sunday.
On the one hand the White House won't release photos of the raid as it would inflame Muslim sensitivities, but then the President is on a media tour to keep attention from...the pesky deficit...
Today's trip to NYC is unnecessary and gratuitous.

The Great One is having it both ways. No release of photos, wash the body, burial at sea, all the PC stuff. Now I'm off to NYC to dance on the grave. Its hard to read this guy. He is all over the place.

The Mayor can't put his right wing talking points aside for a minute. The Mayor censors people like me on the blog if the political commentary points out his insincerity; things like this Mayor is not exactly camera shy so who is he to criticize President Obama. And why is it so hard to say President Barrack Obama and not Osama Bin Laden for Radio host around here. Is the disrespect intentional or not? At the very least it shows some weird preoccupation with tarring the President with Islamic roots and I thought the show of the birth certificate changed that whole line of propaganda from the so-called progressive Mayor. Pllleeeaaasssseeee, say something good about President Barrack Obama and get a real 'Progressive' in the Mayoral Race. At least someone who knows our Presidents name and his name isn't the anointed one Mayor Graham!

If we allow our fear of the terrorists to keep us from publishing photos, then the terrorists have won. If we allow the president's sanctimony to keep us from publishing and then he goes to ground zero, he is a hypocrite.
I see everyone has already gotten their talking points from El Rushbo and Hannity. How about this all you lemmings: Maybe the photos aren't being released, because that would be something the terrorists would do. (i.e.Daniel Perl). I would like to think we are better than that. I see the reasonable Republicans (Boehner, Hutchison, Gates et al) have come out against releasing them.

I just thank the gods G. Dubya and Vader didn't pull the trigger. We'd still be having parades in every city from sea to shining sea, yellow ribbons everywhere. Let the conservies whine. Dems killed Osama. Ground Zero was our only parade.
