The Conservatives have won a majority government in the Canadian Parliament, giving Prime Minister Stephen Harper the grip on Ottawa which so far has eluded him...The rival Liberals were crushed, finishing third behind the new opposition party, the New Democrats. ....Its the first time the NDP formed the loyal opposition and the first time the Liberals were not either first or second.
Unofficial returns gave the Conservatives 166 seats out of 308 in Parliament...The NDP had 104.

Geeze, they said just a few hours ago the Conservatives lost. Does Canada suffer from the same MSM denial and dishonesty against Conservatives we deal with here in the US? They lied, just as they do in elections here in the USA. Ah, maybe they just called it a little early, the wrong way. Oooops.
The New Dems are the real Libs / Progressives in Canada (according to one of my Canadian Lib buds that would know), and made some great gains this election. The Conservatives are soon toast up there in the Great White as they are here south of the border.
For those interested in .ca politics, try small dead animals
Pretty soon even the Conservatives down here in NNY will be advocates for taxing the 'Rich' at a higher rate. They could have won so much good will for willingly giving up the 'Bush Tax Cuts' and let the rate go up 2 percent. In the end they're going to get a much bigger correction and I'm thinking 40 percent sounds just right to me.

Finally!!! Now the Canadian government can stop spending Canadian tax dollars on their own people and start giving it all to no-bid contractors and corporations overseas like their big neighbor to the south.
I get it Evul, the Conservatives lost, then they won. But in your eyes they really lost again. Got it. Imagine, a country with a balanced budget. That kind of thing must really drive you nuts.
