More laws....one Assembly bill would require a system be set up to recycle mercury thermometers...ban the use of Styrofoam cups....and require packing "peanuts" to be made of recyclable materials...State purchases would also be geared to "envirnmentally sensitive" products.
More cost..more bureaucracy...in a state that can afford neither...

You obviously don't care about the planet. Don't you realize that in 10,000 years when we excavate the Rodman landfill for development of a daycare, we don't want any Styrofoam in there with all those paper straws???
I'm glad to see the Liberals are once again trying to save us from ourselves. What would we do without them?
I'm actually quite SHOCKED that this bill didn't come from Chuck "Let's Ban Everything" Shumer and his sidekick Kristen "Whatever Chuck Says" Gillibrand.
Psst...I threw one of them curly-que "green" lightbulbs in the regular trash the other day, and did not recycle it!
The problem with "recyclable material" is it costs at least twice as much as originally produced stuff, so... six of one.
Whenever it becomes cost-effective to "go green" I may jump on board that train. 'til then it don't make a lick of sense.
The "Peanuts" have been around too long, but the new ones are made of Cornstarch, Water does them in, actually been around for 25yrs.
have you ever heard about styrofoam peanuts? just wnna ask though...
