WDT: Gillibrand Rips ICE Cops After Butterville Raid
Senator Kirsten Gillibrand says an alleged illegal alien shouldn't have to sit in a police patrol car with his dead father for hours on end....Senator Gillibrand says the tactics of so called ICE agents towards aliens is overdone. That may be Senator, but through skillful public relations these visiting workers have been dehumanized to the point, middle America doesn't care. As for the farmer at Butterville Farm in Henderson who was hassled by the jack-booted crowd...Well, that's the price you pay living in the Land of the Free. Fact is people clamor for law and order and for secure borders and we have put a passle of immigration cops on duty....One assumes they will round up some folks from time to time and send the appropriate message. What is ironic is that the Butterville farmers seem to be living the same life as those working there and all these agents storm in without any concept of who will do the scruffy work of tending to the cows while the government's dog and pony show plays out. Besides, when we give 'em a neat acronym like "ICE", shouldn't we expect 'em to be cold ? Watertown Daily Times ICE tactics spur debate

Dont forget the "Dog and Pony " @ Mackie's needless to say BB will be actively involved in passing some sort of "SAFE" area for the Illegals, AJR will jump on board too, the other acronym is SERT. Thank God they didnt come in from the lake with an invasion force, led by The Sheriff with a Sabre in hand.
She is right. Cops should not make a person stay in a police car with their fathers dead body, for hours or even minutes.
I notice the WDT article (coming out of Washington) uses the misnomers of "undocumented alien" and "immigration reform".
The proper term instead of "immigration reform" is "pardons for those who illegally invaded our country", which has nothing to do with "reform".
The proper term for "undocumented alien" is "illegal alien"...it wasn't a paperwork error it was a criminal act. It is like calling a rapist an undocumented sexual partner.
I;ll bet some farmers on the county legislature in St. Lawrence are nervous.
St lawrence county has had many illegals for several years woring to well to do farmers. Nothing and I mean nothing has been done. One died in fire last year but bnecause he was working for a local magistrate it got brushed under the rug. Thirty were arrested just in the last month but nothings hapened except the arrest show.. Media called and handy for pictures and stories upon arrest.. Why//
The Border Patrol and immagration and Park Police and State Police and Sheriffs patrol and the local Police in this area along with some Military authorites are too busy harrassing motorists in roadblocks in SLC looking for nickle and dime drug arrests.. The big investigations and arrests just dont happen up here.....
Jeff, you fail to point out that the Sheriff was part of the Jack-booted raid in the land of the free.
Of course any Sheriff would be glad to get the pictures taken so he can justify his position to the people.. Back years ago Gary Jarvis then Sheriff ordered a raid on a farm in SLC. They had military along with troopers, sheriffs, and local municipal drug enforcment peopl there. TV ranted for weeks with large stories. Some of the task force estimated the street value of the drugs at two million and more
The only problem was, this was a hemp crop. No value no significance. It has grown and still exists for years on this farm. This was the third public raid of this farm and its value was know beforehand .. Talk about fraud.
Another person no more thana few miles for their spent almost a year in jail with his rights being violated for most of this time for growning marj... End result not guilty.... Hemp from the seeds of the nearby farm.....
The Rumble gun case in Ogdensburg is another example of Fed agents abuse of power..
SLC has several large farmers using illegals and they feel no pressure because they are informed by immagration to when checks will be made and what to do.. The two or three on the legislators gets their inside from the Sheriffs dept in trade for favorable votes towards their dept.... FACT
Law enforcement has become much like our school system. They compete for money and publicity too. So when something comes up, it gets played up. If the guy who lost his father was forced to sit in a car with the body, that was bad judgement. I don't know that it happened. Just because it gets reported means nothing to me. But if so, Schumer's little plaything is right, it was wrong.
Paint it, spin it, or twist it anyway you please, but being in any country without proper papers or permission is "illegal, unlawful" and that means against the law, period.
Gillibrand is an opportunist just like Schumer, so hide the mics whenever one of them enters the room, then duck for cover - you might get run over.
Gillibrand comes to the defense of the illegal immigrants but does not complain about the treatment of the farmer. They bring seven plus cars with the press in tow. This man would have driven himself to them if he was asked. Of course ICE needed their "perp walk"
A Republican Senator would have rightly criticized the treatment of the hard working taxpayer
Good for Gillibrand to come out on the issue. Owen's has been to soft and is not taking the lead to protect agriculture. Bad move on his part and out of touch with his district.
I think for the first time ever...I agree with Dan Francis.
But Dan, does being an illegal alien mean it is okay to put him in the back of a police car with his dead father?
Yup, not only is the Dannie right on this, but he was right early and often on the likes of Kiersten Gilllybrand. Isn't that the cooolist name? And since she lost the weight she's been the hottest thing. Why, she could give a speech at Rutgers with a bod like that. But Dannie is right, has been on this one. I'll just betcha if there was an Elephant alternative he would hate him/her more though.
Bla Bla Bla. But how do we help the Butterville Farmer deal with the mess? Would be grateful for suggestions. How do we help him get through this? Legal fees will cost him, time and effort and stress. Talk is cheep, so we need to come up with a plan to help him, somehow. Letters to the Sen?
Anon 11:09 -- stop trying to figure me out. You can't, so give it up.
You don't know me, so stop pretending you do.
BTW: You are a $hïtty analyst in that regard, too (pardon my French) . . . party labels or other labels don't mean that much to me in the logn run; not when right and wrong and an honest assessment are called for or on the line - keep that in mind then you might start to figure me out.
There is nothing in this world more important to you than party labels, Dannie. Why else would your hatred be so consistently tilted one way. I do realize there is a financial aspect to it. You believe in free stuff because you have always worked in a government job. Its difficult to understand accountability when that is the case. As far as giving you credit for your early assessment of Gillybrand, that topic simply stands out as an unusual example of consistency, something we don't often see in Dannieisms.
