That story we talked about last week about increased playground regulation of commong games like kickball and Red Rover has percolated up to the big city MSM.......Papers like the Daily News made fun of it too by running a photo of a youngster dressed in padding coming home from the playground.
Wonder why the Health Department didn't hold a press conference to outline their initiative ? I think we know why.
Our elected officials were all over this story last week after newsman John Moore broke the story locally.
Just because we are a town still without a movie theater doesn't mean our local newsmen and politicians are not on the ball....the kickball that is.
Classic kids games like kickball deemed unsafe by state in effort to increase summer camp regulation

Must be that the State doesn't follow the Wi game posts. Kids get hurt every day playing with the paddles.
Too bad Cuomo is an empty suit who has done nothing in office but pass a budget that passes the buck...otherwise, if he was a true leader, he would put this type of nonsense to bed fast.
That is what we get when we hire leaders with no experience or aptitude for leading.
EMpty suites like Ritchie keep this kind of stuff active. They can get press and media attention. They dont understand the complexity of the budget so they vote as told but this stuff they go nuts over.
Yes, 9:39, blame Cuomo for a bill that was passed and signed into law in 2009. A bill that passed unanimously in the Senate and had only one Assemblymember vote against it-and it wasn't Ms. Russell. Do some research on what this issue actually is and what the new regulations are really going to mean for these camps before making such broad statements.
Cuomo passed a budget that is balanced on the backs of the working class and poor NYers, yes. But he most certainly didn't pass the buck, there was no buck to be passed when billions of dollars are being cut from spending.
The only person here with no experience or aptitude for learning is Patty Ritchie. In my opinion, County Clerk did no properly prepare her for what she has to deal with as a State Senator. She's proven that so far as all I have seen her do is follow around the Downstate/Long Island Republican leadership.
Moreover, I would argue Cuomo may have more experience than anyone else in NYS politics, the man has been groomed to be the governor. I don't agree with everything he's been doing but he has surely been a very strong governor who has show he will get done what he believes should get done.
As a one party state, the only thing we can have is a Cuomo. Next up, Schneiderman. After that will be some illegal from Queens.
