Open for Business

The federal government is open today....Following an agreement last night on a continuing resolution on funding.....The contentious debate was not about all that much money in the scheme of things and the final wording has not been drafted but let's assume its done...
That puts the budget to bed until September 30 when the current fiscal year ends. Before then a huge debate will occur on that budget as well as on a proposed expansion of debt.
Look for more fur to fly.

That is too bad.
I noticed they used the word “looms” do describe the likely possibility of the government shutting down. That word sounds ominous. I would have used a happier word such as “promising”.

Instead of spending $3,690,000,000,000 the extreme republicans tried to get away with only spending $3,590,000,000,000
But luckily those extremists were shot down by Up-Chuck and his good liberal friends.

Seriously, I hope the new moderate teaparty reps that were ushered in last fall, votes this down and recalls Boehner.

Butler Schaffer today recalled when JFK submitted an annual budget of $99 billions because he didn't want to be the 1st peace-time Prez with a $100 billions request.

Among The Sorrows of Empire is the bankrupting costs.

But those Tea Party people only wanted to spend the lower amount because they are racist. If you remember that, Schmuck and the boys were watching out for us. The last thing we want is responsible spending.
