It's Saturday !
Got a press release from Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush office with a photo of him in a meat packing plant...He is wearing a hair net and white smock. In today's world of political self promotion of which I have been a part, I guess any photo is a good photo, although this one is not all that flattering. But if I was a headline writer I could use "Where's the Beef?". On other matters, City Council has several items on the docket for Monday's work session, including a discussion of emergency funding for CAPC, and a request for food bank assistance from the Watertown Urban Mission. There will be a presentation of a study done on job and wage classifications for City employees. and there will be further discussion on last week's presentation concerning changes to the HVAC systems at City Hall and the Flower Memorial Library. Council is getting ready for the April 18 presentation of a proposed City budget, and that same day is also the deadline for those applying for the soon to be vacant position of City Clerk. So far response has been good and Council will move quickly to review applications and take a closer look at the best candidates.

This is reALLY FUNNY IT Reminds me of a story on one of the national tv shows with a pr consultant to politicians that ran this week . ADVICE given was NEVER EVER have your photo taken in a bad situation with a Bad HAIR or headgear shot or anything that resembles same. The story SPECIFICALLY poked fun at a pol who want ed to do such a shot with a hairnet and the advice he got from his staff was ' "No sir we won't be taking any shots in a HAIRNET"-- LMAO
BB needs a new pr flack
The classic bad hair /headgear shot that i remember was Gov. Dukaikas in that tank with a tanker's helmet that dominated him and became a parody -- LMAO
Did you want hair in your hamburger? Good for you Assemblyman Blankenbush for not sacrificing food safety for a public relations political ploy.
Move on Mayor.
A hairnet -- u have to be kidding me :>) real men don't wear hairnets ! LMAO
BB needs to sharpen up the image. Try something edgy like a 10 GALLON HAT--something a real MAN WOULD WEAR - IT DID WONDERS FOR "Reagan & BUSH :>)
He would probally make a better Butcher than an Assemblyman. He looks like a Butcher in the photo.
Willie Horton was the only image problem Dukaikas had. Voters don't pay much attention to these bad photo op's. Should I start naming all the ugly politicians to make the point? Hell...they even elected a fat guy in NJ. It is a true dichotomy that conventional wisdom both underestimates and overestimates voters.
Its not about ugly -- Hell they are ALL UGLY by one fashion or another . I mean those with character flaws as well as countenence deficits :>)
And while INTELLIGENT voters may laff at the silliness the vast majority of the electorate isn't intellectually gifted and for better or worse does pay attention to ODDITIES .
Photos/incidents/caracatures portraying such are remembered by the popular culture .
If i were BB i'd start riding in Jeeps in camo soon or at least get on a farm in carharts but hairnets -- c'mon its funny
Were there any migrant farm workers there.
