Is there any concern that in the 2011 Mayoral race that a Democrat is not currently running. Non-partisan in theory the race reeks of partisanship from Mayor Graham the supposed Independent in the race and the Republican Right. A Democrat needs to run, which won't change the fact that the Democratic Party doesn’t currently formerly contest the city, which is supposedly Non-Partisan politically. This will give the voter a fair choice to vote for a candidate with a Democratic pedigree. The choice for the voter in the current field is too narrow. The Mayoral continues to laugh it all off as unnecessary. Voter choice that representative of who they are politically aligned with is important. The Mayor would like to control Watertown, NY and help 2010 Republican Candidate Matt Doyheny get elected to Congress in 2012. I just think Democrats everywhere should fight to prevent that from happening and this is the first step in the process to move Watertown into a more Democratic agenda for its voters.
Mike why don't you move to the city and run! There is no shortage of voters in the city that like to spend spend spend and tax the rich. they like to give special privileges to woman and other minorities and award a Jagiellon dollars to a poor victim every time a business makes a mistake. And definitely set every criminal free with a slap on the wrist. And regulate everything and pass as many laws as you can think of.
What makes you think a Dem. would be all that looked at as a good thing in this area. Yes there are several who claim that party as their own....But do they vote anymore just on that line?

No Mikey, there is no concern that the City has a tradition of non-partisan elections. It has worked very well for residents.
