The only thing worse than a stinkin' theif is a D@4%ed R.I.N.O.!!!!!! Chris Cristy and Scott Walker seem to be about the only two true republicans on the face of the earth right now. One tax for all, no matter what your income level, and limit that tax to less than 15% for fed. taxes and no more than another 2% for state taxes! Additionally, total taxes collected by the feds should be limited to no more than 10% of the GDP, and the states should be limited to no more than 1% of the state's GDP.

Thanks Nick, for taking an honest look at a difficult budget situation, during a year of great pain and little gain for most of us ‘Just Getting By Types.”

Nick is clueless , has been a virtual sideshow for his entire term . Another Lost in Space episode -- oh well what we have come to expect from the Nick at Nite show .

Why are the views on state income tax policy of an Ogdensburg councilman news? Should we get the take from the dog catcher too?

Juston, "It is for the children, protect kids not millionaires..."
I like the sound of that, and would like to attend. I know Sen. Pattie Ritchie is a supporter of Educators and Education, just as Assemblywoman Addie Russell is a supporter of an Education System that will prepare our children to compete in the world of today and tomorrow. While Sen. Ritchie has voiced concerns about anything that can be viewed as a Tax increase, I hope upon reflection she and Gov. Cuomo can feel free to adapt the 'Millionaires Tax' as the least onerous way to save jobs in NNY, and provide our children with the best education possible for their futures.

What is so hard to understand? "Prisons" "education" "healthcare" do not create wealth. These are gov't 'services' that destroy the wealth created elsewhere. Liberty, Capital & production (the creation of wealth) is necessary for prosperity. You can have millions of 'prison guards' 'educators' and 'health-care workers' drawing public salaries & spending that money in box stores (services) or resturants (services) & the society will still go broke because they are destroying capital faster than it can be created. Set aside the immorality of the Income Tax for a moment; the fact remains if the income tax were ended if would free vast amounts of personal capital & this capital would be used directly & indirectly in the creation of wealth. A society cannot support more 'services' than the means available can pay for. Keynes was full of sh*t! Gov't has been practicing Keynesianism for what? 75 years? and it is broke. It doesn't work. Even if you stole all the money owned by the 'wealthy' within weeks you would be back at the place you started from.

Tell your local governments to reject grants and other handouts if you don't like the other solutions. At least Juston is working on it, unlike the rest of you crustaceans.

As an educator with 4 decades experience THIS is NOT about the kids.
It s about worship of the status quo.

All the $$$ that are throw at the problem of generating the BEST education has been a miserable failure . It is most assuredly possible to a better job WITHOUT wasting $$$$-- solution eliminate mandates w/o $$$, eliminate so called special programs that overload the system with expensive fluff and add little to no value. Reduce the sheer amt of $$ to Athletics and BTW i played 3 sports in school so am not anti- jock.

There is simply too much garbage in the system that has been ADDED over time that is mostly FEEL good nonsense and detracts from the primary business of educating .

Hey 7:21 you're right how can we be in tough times, and we put 10 million into a building assessed at 400K

ANON 3:34 AM “Even if you stole all the money owned by the 'wealthy' within weeks you would be back at the place you started from.” Keep firing Prison guards and we may get a chance to test your theory.

8:45 Please be careful with what you say. That kind of honesty could throw our Mikey into an increased fit of confusion. Consider carefully the effects of telling him the truth about what the education system has become. Also Mikey, we haven't fired any prison guards. Not sure what bar you're getting that info from. Please recheck. None gone. Zero.

Our state government is set up like our federal constitution so that less populated areas have extra influence. In light of that, we have the votes to get more than our share of free money into our area. So our reps can pick the prisons and Mercy and whatever else they want to concentrate on and stubbornly get their own way in exchange for rolling over on everything else. They do not need to favor the dumb surcharge that will drive more Galisanos out of our state. They can leave it up to the leadership to cut the budget somewhere else and cut the prisons in another area.

Anon at 3:34 - Education and Health Care don't create wealth? Really?

Anonymous said...

What a joke this kid is. Get a job and see how the real world works before making such a dumb statement. Keeep jails open when inmates decline and some state worker keeps a job. Consolidate schools or raise taxes double digit each year and watch the protest. The give me it all days are coming to and end. The taxpayers backs are broken and the revolts start.

Mr. Vaugh, the Blue is showing through. With age comes experience, knowledge, and wisdom. Mr. Vaugh still a little young and appears to be waffling between Republican ideologies and Addie Russell's position on issues. Does anyone know what her position is? She changes her mind every time the wind blows but she has stood strong on Micro-Stamping. Mr. Vaugh should be concentration on issues that face the City Council.

800 - you mean Addie Russell's socialist, wacked-out liberal ways right? That's what she advocates on a daily basis for in the NYS Assembly. She's the most liberal legislator this area has every seen and that's saying something. I mean she has an admitted socialist on her staff for Gods sake.

Do not mention God in the same paragraph as Addie Jennie Russell. Please.

That giant sucking sound you heard last night was her, pandering to the teachers at Case Jr High. Nice party.
