OJ: City Hall To House Ritchie's Office

The Ogdensburg City Council has decided to approve a lease with Senator Patty Ritchie's office to have the Senator's local office in City Hall..
The Maple City's most august deliberative body met in executive session to talk about the deal. That seems on the surface a bit of a stretch of the Open Meetings Law, as there is nothing very sensitive or proprietary about the matter, other than the politics of it all by plancing the GOP Senator's office smack dab in City Hall during an election cycle for the mayor.

You would have done this behind the scenes without a quorum and then pretended to do it in open meeting, even though it had already been worked out, right?
Me too.

Thats what this is. Pure politics and nothing else.
Nelson will most certainly face a contender this year as on his last bid he didnt recieve even fifty percent of the vote.. Anything to help him out and make it more available for him and Nicky Vaugh get their picture taken
Most of us in Ogdensburg appreciate what Nelson has done over his last couple of terms but he is not emphasing what we want. Vaugh is totally out of touch with everyone and I doubt he wins in any senario. Powers will probably get reelected however he must get out of Nelsons pocket at times.
Ritchies accessiblity will be sppreciated however as long as she donst get involved with the locals and their politics.
This group of peopoe are out of touch with the population. The other night the city police chief annoucned some grant money to help the dept. Council man powers got up and gave a great rah rah cheer to the front line and supervison of the dept. Good Job Guys.
As a population we are concerned about five murders over the last few years with no convictions, rampart durg usage and selling. Petty crime out of control obviously leading to these murders. Its been repeadly talked about someone looking into a volunteer police squad to help. The council reads these Blogs so one can only assume this is an ignored idea...
We want action in the Maple City not the status quo. We dont need the Rah Rah Rah of the three amigos.

This shows Patty is a great person. Bill Nelson openly opposed her during her last campagn for state office and he and the local GOP did very little to help her during this one. I cant understand the Ogdensburg Office but what it really amounts to is If any important people visit Ritchies office Nelson and the Posturing crowd caN BE AROUND FOR any and all chances for picturees a story and posturing for the voters to see.

This council NEEDS to wake up and address the serious problem of crime drugs , murders that are unsolved , citizen safety , property tax and especially FEE increases and related issues with run down housing , poor infrastructure and disproportionate dependence on PUBLIC sector employment ,

What is the rent payment?
Maybe it is just a way of giving to the city budget.

She can always go down to the DMV and make sure it is still profitable like when she ran it.

Maybe they did this in executive session to see if they could find a tactful way out of allowing her office in City Hall. She is such an embarassment.

This council is pathetic.. Nelson called for an executive session to announce Rithcies plans.. Public Referendum... So What?
The joke of the night is Vaugh again posturing on a constitutional issue. A federal constitution. Some Republican politicans are trying to get some sense of equality in this state with the voters by revising the way national elections are held.. He didnt know what he was talking aobut and blothced the entire session. This kid is patheticly inempt as a politican or I should say a wannabe politican.. The issue itself has merit but should be handled on the national front by the people who know not in some backroom in Northern NY.
